If Barnard is found guilty for what is alleged to be a pretty nasty offence would it be right to keep him at the club ?what signal would it send out to young fans ,I'm all for giving people second chances but for a high profile person in the public eye not so sure about what harm it could do to the clubs reputation ? Thoughts anyone
 
considering he recently signed a new contract, i think the club are either pretty confident he is not guilty or they plan to stick by him even if convicted
 
I think since he signed a fairly lengthy contract extension not long ago, with all this still up in the air, either
a) the club are fairly sure he won't be found guilty
b) (much more unlikely) the club will stand by him if he is

I don't think they would have signed a new contract otherwise?
 
Far be it from me to speculate, but I have a sneaky feeling that somewhere in his new contract will be something about a swift termination if he does get sent to prison.
 
I don't think it is right for us to speculate about his innocence or guilt as we do not know the facts of the case. He is innocent until proven guilty. Let justice take it's course and then take it from there.

I saw that too. Someone posted a link on here. Regardless, the club might have offered a new contract to demonstrate tacit support. This isn't uncommon in the real world of HR where employers write to the court along the lines of "Yes we know he's been a bad boy but he's really knuckled down" etc etc.
 
Personally, I think we should stick by him, whatever the verdict. He's given everything for the team since he's been at Saints, and we're going to sack him for this one thing? For sure, it was a terrible thing to do, but I think we should repay the loyalty Lee has shown us.
 
LoveBarney as aplayer but lets be honest if this was Barton we would be spitting bile in his general direction. its all rumour and gossip but if he did smack some one with a glass i dont like the man if he didnt stay on the bus all will be revealed in due course then we make judgement
