    There is proposal that a fans representative would be appointed to the Board... what should the selection criteria of this position be?

    1) This person should be independent and approved by the fans not appointed by new owners;
    2) This person could be male or female
    3) This person should have not baggage ie not be a former employee or the relative of a former employee
    4) This person should be able to talk to all fans not just a single forum or Supp Trust Members

    Any other sensible/reasonable suggestions?

    <cheers>

    A Fan’s Director would be an unnecessary & divisive distraction.

    There is nothing in the JD of a Fans Director that a fully competent CEO and a decent owner can’t cover.

    Roger Alwen - our best owner of the last 50 years - never needed a Fan’s Director.

    Surely the role of a Fans Director could be achieved via liaison with the Supporters Trust if really necessary?

    Does anyone else remember Bill Treadgold, God bless him. Chairman of the Supporters Club when we quit the Valley. He certainly copped a bit of flak when that happened, but we were all Charlton fans who sorted out our differences like men in those days.

    Bill used to be followed to the away games by his little mate Wally (?) who had a pencil thin moustache and always wore a flat tartan cap. Happy days.

    If the new Management are open and liaise with a proper Supporters Trust, there should be no need for a fans Director. The trouble with a Fans director is that the person could be driven by ego and self interest, which will not be good for the Charlton Supporters he or she are representing.

    If the Fans Director were to be appointed, Jean Huelin would be a very strong candidate.

    A long term track record of commitment to Charlton and the interests of its real fans.

    I disagreed with her over Powell, but respected her charity collection at Doncaster away last season for the poor lad with cancer.

    Can you say this in 2018

    "This person could be male or female"

    You have bound to upset some sort of group out there LOL

    Some Snowflake will be in tears that you have described them as a male or female

    Women often turn out to be the best man for the job.

    Look at our two splendid female Prime Ministers.

    Arlene Foster is certainly punching above her weight. And you forgot to mention Nicola Sturgeon or Angela Merkel.

    Nope, the former seeks world domination through the economic subjugation of smaller countries. Fact.

    The latter is irrelevant, and has as many control levers as the Mayor of the Isle of Wight.

    A Fans Director is a gimmick.
    Public relations exercise and a waste of money.

    What this Club needs is a really strong and respected Non-executive Chairman, and a capable, savvy CEO who understands how to communicate with the fan base. Such a person should be able to keep the Supporters' Trust onside.

    We need to narrow it down to one simple question, like the EU referendum.

    A2C or Ackers?

    There are enough divisions already between Charlton factions, a vote on that would start a civil war.

    The woman in The Salisbury chippie goes Charlton home and away.

    I vote for her.

    By civil war do you mean civil women against the regime?
