If Arsenal don't make 4th place and get in the CL then it seems reasonable to assume that there will be a 20M deficit next season. That equates to roughly 400k a week or about 5 players at Arsenal. If you have to drop 5 players which 5 would you pick? (i'm guessing Arshavin will feature alot here)

Small difference is that those guys have won the league, champions league, FA cup etc. None of our players have won a thing. Their footballing CV is shoddy. Anyway. If I could only pick 5: - Arshavin - Diaby - Squillachi - Almunia - Chamakh Those 5 players have no future at this club, either because they are past it or just not good enough. Although to be honest, we need a whole new 2nd string of players.
Serious answer, it probably has something to do with wages. Gibson and Obertan were probably lucky to be on 17k a week and squad players like brown and O'shea on 30-40k. Less serious answer, whats useless to united can still be decent. 99% of Arsenals squad would be "useless" to United but for a smaller club like Arsenal they can be handy.
