We wouldn't be in a relegation scrap. But a game is 90 minutes long and the sooner the players realise it and the coaching staff the better.

Itsreally difficult for me to look at the positives of yesterday if there were any real ones of note. I just can't think of any when we've lost 3 nil.

If you look at our team on paper you'd use that well used cliche that we have too much quality to go down but clearly a massive improvement is needed for Fulham FC to remain in the premiership. It doesn't matter about quality when the system they play is sh××e!

I'm not moaning for moanings sake but why at Fulham is it euphoria one minute and bloody frustration 17 hours later?

As a footnote, we were on the same amount of points this time in 2007/08. At the end of March we were on 24 points.

The difference between then and now the 6 or so teams around us were ona constant loosing streak,
now they all seem to have found winning ways.

Funnily enough, I was about to post about the situation now compared to 2008. Actually, after 24 matches we were only on 16pts, although we were one place higher in the table because Derby were so hopelessly adrift. The four teams above us then had 20,20, 22, 22pts respectively, so the opposition this season is marginally better off too (21,22, 23, 23).

The point is, we're in a tough spot but we're in a better place (just) than we were then. Survival is still entirely possible. I remember that season saying to people that we could survive as long as we started winning games... and we didn't, and we didn't, and then just when I thought it really was hopeless, we started to get results. Let's stay positive and give the new signings - especially Mitroglou - the chance to show what they can do. We didn't sign anyone with the same match-winning potential as him in 2008, so that's another plus for this year in any comparison between the two.

Absolutely right Captain. We've been there, done that. Being an old codger, my thoughts went back to season 61/62. After 22 games we had (co-incidentally) 19 points and were 6 points adrift of safety - third bottom Cardiff were on 25 ponts. And (another co-incidence) the turn around came after beating Sheffield United.

One of the many things I like about you, Cottager, is that you make me feel young - remembering 61-62. I wasn't even born!
