I was very dissapointed with our attendance last weekend. what can be done (apart from lowering ticket prices) to attract both new fans and old ones that have lost the faith.

The obvious one is in progress as we speak thanks to but even that doesnt seem to be working as yet, so what can be done to bring the magic back to the stadium of light?

I often think about how people say the crowd is like and "extra man" and i think the club could do more to build up a better pre match atmosphere to gee up the crowd.

Kids for a quid is always a good idea i think if a low crowd is expected.

For all we are in the cup it still seems out of fashion with many, I thought 5th round against the gooners would have changed things but it seems not.

What can be done, no idea, is it cost, Newcastle are in the same area but can get 50,000.

Maybe our core support is around 36,000 in the area.

Looking for excuses now but 26,000 was a bit of an insult to MON.

I think many people like myself simply thought pay 20 quid + petrol and other matchday expenditure to go and watch the game or a get a pizza/curry and a few tinnies and watch it on the box. You can slag me off all you like but in a time of financial uncertainty its a no brainer.

Maybe we should stop looking at support that just isn't there but be positive as we still have the 7th highest average attendance in the league. Like I previously asked, is our ground too big? I think yes by around 6-7k. That still does not excuse the crowd against Arsenal.

Newcastle have a much bigger catchment area than us and haven't suffered three soul destroying relegations in the last 15 years. There relelgation strengthened them and made them more united and they've had champions league football and numerous cup finals in that time. They've had it alot better than us in the 'premier league years'. swap the circumstances around and I think they'd be getting lower crowds than us

i think the money and ticket prices/cost is a crap one as we are one of the cheapest premier league teams if not the cheapest to watch, the whole country is going through a hard time at the moment including newcastle yet they still fill asda most of the time.

i think its time some of our so called loyal supporters quit the exuses and show some commitment and put there hands in there pockets and get to the stadium. i go to most home games although i am not a season ticket holder. fair enough i know its hard to get to every single game but i think we need to show more commitment after all we all would be the first to complain if out manager or any players didnt show there commitment.

I see what you are saying and the 15 point season lost us fans, the last few months of Bruce lost us fans, then..

Bruce left and MON came in, yes but he will cock it up like many before him, he won.

Yes but its new manager honey moon, he won again and keeps on winning.

    To me,

The club have shown their intent and brought in MON

MON has shown his intent and wins

The players have shown their intent and fight to the end, and win

Is it now the time for the fans to show their intent?

If a low crowd is expected for Arsenal in the 5th round of the cup then we might as well give up...

Maybe they should try a five or ten year plan similar to ours.

Give it time. It's only been a few months. It may be a while before some fans get 'the itch' to return again if they've stopped attending games.
