I'd love it, just love it, if we bought wickham

Honestly, he's as young as McEachran and is 6'3 and English

WE COULD MAKE HIM BETTER THAN CARROLL. We have the most impressive track record of producing quality center forwards in the world of football if I'm not mistaken.

Thing is though, even if we got Wickham, we still wouldnt have produced him. Ipswich would have

But I see what you mean, Newcastle has a very high amount of world class strikers hailing from there; Milburn, Shearer, Beardsley, Carroll (maybe with time)

Shearer didn't start here either, but we arguably perfected him.

Ameobi is just a filler to me. He's beloved by us - and for good reason - but he'll never be a world beater like our #9's usually are.

Newcastle, however, must always have a big English center forward. We started dropping down the premier league table year after year, and got relegated without one.

Ah but Shearer's from Newcastle itself, which is the angle I was angling for. If you extend the net to strikers the academy has produced then you get far more top players

Looks like Andy Carroll, truly a fish out of water.

    I'm an expert on angles

    sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) = 1 ;)

You can even see the hook that Dalglish used to reel him in (not in his mouth, look at his eye).

He isn't proven. i wouldn't pay more than a few million quid for him as a punt. He has room to develop but you're only paying for potential. He could be great but at the minute he isn't anything special other than being english and a big enough lad to cope with first team football at his age.
