While this may have lined Ibra's bank balance nicely, I do think in hindsight it may have been counter-productive in influencing his thoughts in front of goal. Why pass to a team mate for an easy goal when a lucky deflection might increase his personal tally and add a further sizeable payment into his account. I'm beginning to think of opportunities during the season when he might have passed to someone with a better chance on goal, but didn't.
That is one way to look at it. Another could be that he bagged so many due to the incentives on offer. Wants that bonus..so tries his damnedest to get a goal and thus the team benefits. He might not need the money...but no one says no to an opportunity to make more..especilly rich ****s
To be fair, most strikers are generally greedy. And look at how poor we have become in front of goal since his injury. We simply have no teeth up front. Rashford is good but he is still very young. We need a 30 goal/season striker to be competitive.
Course they are, that's what striker's are there for. All this clichéd blessing in disguise nonsense has been proven to be bollocks, we've played no better and scored, what, two goals since he was injured? One a pen. Absolute rubbish to say we're better off without him.
