Sorry, maybe this shouldn't be a new thread, but his outbursts tonight about us, and his ill informed rubbish that he came out with really wound me up. Not only that, but i suspect he's not alone in the ignorance he has about what's going on here. So, am i out of order or wrong to think he's embarrassed himself tonight, or should we just lie down and take everything that these seemingly bitter people throw at us?

The bloke is a clown H. He tries to come out with all these 'witty' comments, and all he does is make himself look a fool. At first, when his comments as manager of qpr were made, he seemed like a breath of fresh air. Now that air has turned very stale.
Let people moan at you. When they are whinging and whining, they are jealous. Simple as that.

He should give up football and stick to his other job. Check out 'Brian', the psychic artist on Most Haunted.

ps. Did you see any of the Watford players dive like Zaha did? He didn't even get a yellow. Cheating git. He will fit in well at Man Ure

Like everyone, he's entitled to his his opinion - even though his opinion is wrong. It's just annoying that he is given air time to spread his ignorance.

What I found most laughable was his 'What about the English lads' comment - his claim that Palace are promoting their local lads rather than use foreign players. Since when have Norway, South Africa, France, Argentina, Ireland, Wales, Australia, Ivory Coast, Liberia and Brazil been part of South London? Not to mention all the others they have playing who hail from the four corners of England.

A clear case of the Green Eyed Monster methinks.

More worrying was that this was picked up by Talksh*te this morning and was subjected to their usual full and detailed analysis: 'it must be wrong, I don't know why it's wrong but it must be wrong'.

Ian 'Holler'way is a clown and there is a lot of mis information going around about this subject. To me far worse is the acceptance of clubs like Cardiff who are allowed to operate with debts of tens of millions do pounds. Also, I would far rather have a 'loanee' for a whole season than a mercenary like Stephen Dobbie who is allowed to help two different clubs get promotion in the same season.

We should beware, this story will run and run and the facts, or indeed the opinions of us fans, will be merely incidental.

Perhaps we should point out to them that everything is actually above board and within the FL's own rules - and had there been any problem, the players in question simply would not have been able to be registered with us. It would seem that those prepared to mouth off about it haven't bothered to do some basic research - and are merely mouthing off and making themselves look and sound stupid. Holloway is obviously one of those, having wrongly 'quoted' a rule regarding the number of players he is limited to getting on loan from one club. As a Championship, and former Premiership, manager he should know the rules better than most - apparently not the case.

And you're right Bloother - there are far worse problems in the game at the moment than us actually following the FL's own badly-thought out rule book. Regulations galore regarding players, transfers etc - but sod all attention to the fitness or otherwise of those who say they can run a club in a fit and proper manner.

Why's Holloway moaning about loanee's ... wasn't Palace's equaliser scored by a loanee from Blackpool and isn't Saha (not sure how it's spelt - sorry) a loanee from Man Utd? Those who live in glass houses etc....

I can understand why people are moaning as the rules are daft - why does it matter which country loanees come from? I cannot see why they don't change the rules to stop it.

What would happen then ? Simple the Pozzos would sell the players Watford needs to them and then buy them back if they wanted to - so it would make no difference. People would then moan about two clubs being owned by one man - so they would then have a father and sons arrangement to get round that.

Finally it comes down to money - if there is enough in the kitty you will get the players you want - let's see them try to stop investment - oh dear - then Chelsea, Man U, Cardiff Man City etc would be hit - couldn't have that though could we?

Nice thread Hornette and could not agree more. I'm getting sick and tired of the misinformed and exaggerated way our business model is being portrayed by everyone from Ian Holloway to the Sultan of Brunei. Sky took the biscuit the other week with Merson, Nicholas and Big nose spannerhead history man Thompson banging on about how we were letting down English football. I don't think we need to take a lesson about ruining the national game from figuires associated with Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool quite frankly. If media darlings Palace or West ham had done the same they'd be praising their innovation.

We need to just suck it up and get on with it but it goes to show once again that whatever we do as a club we'll get slated for having ideas above our station and not doing it the right way. If a team went up to the top flight for the first time in its history now and finished second in the first season they'd be lauded for ever more - all we get for doing it, even 30 years on, is "they played long ball football which ruined the game for ever". Plus ca change......

Oh and Arsenal, Spurs, Man utd Chelsea and Liverpool fans etc. think they don't get a fair go in the media <doh>

At first I found hom quite amusing, but after getting Blackpool into The Prem he has become rather tiresome. Typical "rent a quote" tosspot the likes of Sky and Talkshite love - Strachen is another example. Why do you think he left Blackpool? - because they were not going to continue funding his spending and the new money men at Palace will - appraently KP is on £30K a week!
I really do not care what they speak and write about us...f*** the lot of 'em

I saw them - it was the day of our game against the quiet little English side Abu Dhabi Mancity and instead of giving us any credit they tried to ruin our big day.

There are some managers who will give a detailed answer to any question, regardless of how much or little they know about the subject. To be fair to Holloway, he's one of those.

I get a lot more annoyed by media pundits who have spent the past five years pretending never to have heard of us, only to slag us off at every opportunity this season.

If you Listen to the interview on the WO website he keeps saying it can't be right, but doesn't actually elaborate. Something about English players, but mostly he just keeps repeating that it can't be right. And apparently, if Barca linked up with Palace and offered half their reserves he wouldn't be interested. Yeah, right.

He said he hadn't realised that we had so many players from one club. Maybe, if he'd done his homework a bit better Palace wouldn't have been 2 down after 15 minutes?

It beggars belief that he wouldn't have known about our player roster before yesterday as he claimed - and he even got the numbers wrong by claiming that we have 9 loaned from the one club - which we don't.

He is normally animated when interviewed, and gives the impression that he knows what he is talking about - but last night was almost subdued, suggesting that he was not very sure about the truth of what he was saying.

And we at least all know that what he said was garbage. ;)

Even Oli Phillips seemed to suggest he agreed with the article Martin Samuel wrote so maybe its just people not liking the fact they aren't english more than anything else..

How fair would it be if we had 5 players on loan from top Premiership clubs and were 3rd in the league...

Would everyone be going "oh well,at least they are english"?

As said before its come to people's notice in a negative way because we're doing well AND its players like Vydra doing the business that they or us wouldn't normally be able to get.

Plus some fans and managers probably think we play all 9 of them or whatever number it is now and have no talent of our own.

If our Youth system wasn't so highly regarded comments about harming the future of our youngsters wouldn't be made.

One last point - the Under 18s lost 2-1 to Northampton today and we have hardly got a decent crop coming through like a Hoban or Murray beyond a couple of expections.

Not a lot of noise being made about Newcastle buying loads of players from France on the cheap...since when did they last produce a quality English player? Oh silly me, it was Andy Carrol! <yikes>

    I rest my case m'lurd
