The Reading defender out of contract at the end of the season, surely worth a punt if his wages demands are sensible
Good player but we already have enough left backs. He has a bit of quality on the cross and set piece which we probably lack, but he's also a total ****er so it balances out.
No space for him in the squad but hes really slow and getting older too anyway, would you be happy to take his goal threat and experience against his lack of pace? suppose he would be ok with two young and fit centre backs to help him out.
As others have said, we already have 2 left backs for next season, and Cooper who can cover there if they both get injured. If Dawson had left then he probably would have been worth a look, but it's so low on our priorities it'd be a waste of a signing. Before signing a left back we need to sign 2 keepers, a RB, a CB until Xmas (if the right back can't play in the middle), a left winger, 2 right wingers, a striker, and if we're going to play thie 4231 another CM to complement the 3 we already have (for the 2, not the Koren role), plus of course replacements if anyone who's featured regularly this season is sold. NB: I don't expect us to sign all them, it's what I'd like but I'm realistic about the chances, it's just we definitely shouldn't be bringing in a left back before those signings have been made as it will cost us one that we need more.
