See title of post.... and the link. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-boss-malky-mackays-6158805
Is there a genuine reason for this or is it a case of Vincent Tan showing who is boss after the bonus row was leaked. Moody has worked with Malky for a while now so this could spell trouble ahead.
Yup - all seems very strange. Food and drink to the sceptics surrounding Tan's motives for owning the club. The fact is we know nothing about this and the reason behind it. Nevertheless, this coming on top of the players bonus dispute and VT's clear lack of knowledge of the running of a football club other than the top and bottom lines of it's balance sheet is very disturbing. It seems to the casual outsider (and I include myself) that through his vast wealth and what he's prepared to pump into the club, he's imposing his personal preference in a sphere of which he has little understanding. It may be wrong to assume anything at the moment, but you can't get away from the old cliche - power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Still wonder why this guy walked away. The official line was far too patt for my liking - "leaving to pursue other interests" is frequently trotted publicly to cover behind the scenes disagreement.. Maybe he could see it coming starting with the proposed colour change. I recall he quit just before it was leaked, and he knew it was disregarding the vast majority of supporters with whom he built up a very good rapport in his time at the club. I sometimes wish he'd had VT's money not the other way around. please log in to view this image
Iv'e never posted this before but being a fan of both Bruce lee growing up and cardiff city, i can't help now make a link between tan and and Mr han. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIjqKzhmNic Now as many of you probably know on here the character Roper aka Malky if you like played by John Saxon actually makes it to the end of the movie. but if things continue to happen like what we have seen the last few days Malky doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who is going to put up with tan's meddling! God i hope i'm wrong but as i said i made a link a while back and even if it doe seems a little childish and immature look deeper i ask you. I honestly always had this nagging doubt in my head about tan as i'm sure a lot on here has. Maybe making a joke about the situation is probably not best but there is a graver, genuine concern from me about tan and has been for sometime iv'e just never bothered to voice it on here because of fear of getting attacked. but hey here you go. Like i said i hope this gets put to bed and i'm completely wrong. Here's to hoping!
Not a fan of what is happening here. Replacing a right hand man with someone who by his own admission, has no idea about football. Worrying :/
Talk was that Dato Chan Tien Ghee (TG) left to take part in the Malayan elections, not sure if it was just a way to get out.
Let's hope it is a bit of posturing and Tan making a point. It says suspended not sacked so he may be back. Don't see a 23 year old with no footballing experience in the role. The other thing Tan needs to realise is that we probably need MM more than MM needs us. He's probably built enough of a reputation that he wouldn't be without a job for long with the Championship as low as he'd need to go. Sparkey, I agree on the TG front. I expected him to be back for the promotion celebrations of for an early season PM game. He deserves the credit. Something deeper has obviously happened. There are a lot of good things being done by Tan, but one or two worrying things as well. One of the latter could do more harm than many of the former. Worrying times.
Strange that the club hasn't released a statement about it yet either? Thought they would off to stop the rumours/speculating about why he left. Find it hard to believe they would sack him after all the good signings he made in the summer?? Very worrying!
Bit more information in the Daily Mail.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-Tan-replaces-right-hand-man-sons-friend.html
DJ - I did read about Dato Chan's political aspirations in the forthcoming elections over there at the time, but that could have all been part of the wider smokescreen. Anyone know if he got in and became an MP or whatever they call it over there? Remote - I agree there's far more to his departure than we've heard.
First problem is none of us have a clue what has happened. I don't think we should jump to conclusions over MM's future or the reasons behind this until more has been revealed. He did a great job bringing in some players, Cornelius, Braford and Velikonja though account for £10m that we've seen very little from. I know that's harsh on Cornelius but he was terrible before being subbed at Accrington and the introduction of Rudy really improved matters. You'd have to admit that's worrying. As for the odds, if someone sticks a few hundred quid on MM he'll become fav, or 15 or so lower value bets in a couple of hours would be regarded as inside knowledge with the same result. I watched one of the industry experts on Sky explaining they basically just react to the market on the sack race. It would be easier/better if everything was plain sailing but since when has supporting our lot ever been like that!! I think the Venky comparison is very very harsh!
Was Moody all that good? I still reckon City's efforts in the transfer market pre season were poor save Medel & Caulker. Where is the quality left back, wide man and central midfielder? (jury still out on Cornelius)
I think we should be very concerned by this turn of events Cant see Malky standing for such interference to his own staff Norwich may be very interested in this news and I think Malky could walk away and who could blame him ?
Sparks Can't find any updates on TG on the internet. All speculation at the moment and no comment from the club so media having a field day. I'm surprised none of our friends from down the M4 have joined the "I told you so" bandwagon. But watch this space........
Yes, I've looked as well Bluey, and can find no info on the "alleged" future political career of DCTG. Maybe his wiki page hasn't been updated and he's now the president of Malaysia...... I didn't like the abruptness of his departure and the apparent lack of any contact with the club since. After all he was instrumental in our renaissance by bringing Tan to the club - maybe that's just the problem and he's sorry that he did? DC seemed an awfully committed Cardiff supporter for the club's sake and perhaps did not want to see it treated as a personal plaything. Success usually comes at a price, and that doesn't just mean money. There's been a price to pay in human terms for the supporters that has been hard to swallow. I've personally swallowed it up till now, but it's starting to stick in my throat with recent events over the name change suggestions, the player bonus row, and now this lot. We need some clarity of the Moody situation before more and more of Tan's previous supporters start to question where we're going, and at exactly what cost (that's to the supporters not VT).
Norwich interested in Mackay? Is Hughton for the chop then? Is Pulis or some unknown Spanish/portugese manager waiting in the wings
