    QPR

"QPR have got a very good chance of staying up if they can settle things down. There is a little bit of turmoil going on behind the scenes, but they've got a manager who knows his way around the division having been there with Sheffield United. They've got a very good defensive base which will help them; they kept 25 clean sheets last season. They're also very good at home in the tight surroundings of Loftus Road. They don't need a major overhaul, but I sense with the right investment they have the opportunity to do well."

    Norwich

"Norwich have done good business already. They've signed Steve Morison from Millwall who is a real handful. I watched him play against Middlesbrough twice last season and he was too much for the Boro centre-halves. So they've got him, James Vaughan and they look likely to be getting Bradley Johnson. The business had been done nice and early by Paul Lambert, whose managerial experience isn't vast but whose playing CV stands up to scrutiny. He's done a massive job with Norwich in getting back-to back promotions. He's worked under Martin O'Neill so maybe he understands how to get the job done. There is a lot of positivity at that club."

    Swansea

"Swansea played the best football in the Championship bar none. That said I think Brendan Rodgers will accept that they were outplayed at times by Reading in the play-off final. Yet they found a way to win and sometimes when it's your time, it's your time. I don't think Brendan will change that 4-3-3 formation as it allows them to be nice and solid, but he knows he needs to tighten up at the back."

So, Dowie seems to think we have a chance but what about QPR and Swansea. What do you think about their chances and what they need?

Typical dowie really. Used a lot of words to say what everyone already knows. Personally I think swansea will find it hardest but I can see all three promoted sides staying up

QPR - having failed to sign Danny Graham, It also seems that Wayne Routledge doesn't want to stay with them either - they are ****ed. No one wants to play for them <laugh>

Swans - I think having signed Danny Graham they have increased their chances of survival a bit and could just about survive

dowie is a bit of a tool really, isn't he? he doesn't really say what our chances are either.

he would fit nicely into the Football League show alongside Claridge for stating the obvious.

He doesn't say what anyones chances are really! Just states the bleeding obvious, with no real insight.

To add to TC's about QPR being ****ed, Adel Taarabt will be awful in the Premier League, all teams will mark him out the game like we did (Twice) although I think we have an ok chance of staying up Swansea having signed Graham to join Sinclair will get lots of goals for sure...

To be fair, what else would you want him to say? Its a fair enough summary. People are far too easy to criticise today. Twitter generation.

Some sort of definite opinion with a reason would be nice - e.g. QPR have a premier quality keeper but no strikers of note. Unless they buy some I believe they will go down.

I think most people on here only criticise where it is valid

I'm the same age as you! And don't in fact, tweet, for what it's worth. I more meant I'd like to see something a bit more insightful, not a position prediction, but maybe which players he feel would adapt well, does he feel Adel Taraabt will be able to break free of his markers enough next season to make an impact? Will Russell Martin's attacking play leave us rather exposed? Can Holt cut it? He's supposed to be giving his opinion as an expert, if you take a look at his QPR opinion, he's not really said anything that I couldn't have with a quick look at some stats from last season. Whilst I obviously know more about Norwich, he equally hasn't said a lot that I couldn't have found out from a quick chat with a Millwall fan.

Fair enough, wasn't having a dig at you. Just seems as if pretty much every football pundit is slated for what they say (although they unneccesarily slate certain footballers in some cases). To be fair to Dowie, if he was speaking to the national media he isnt going to go into huge detail about Norwich or any one club so I think his summary of the three clubs is reasonably fair.

I do think people might be going a little overboard with Swansea playing the best football ever seen in the championship etc etc. Some newspapers were calling them Swansealona lol

If you think back to his (incredibly limited) managerial career,
you'd have to say "Is he really the person to ask" and in which case - what the **** does he know ? <doh>

In that case if your basing knowledge of football on experience then, what the **** do we know ?

Im a Cardiff fan, believe me nobody is more sick of hearing this than us. Lets all make a pact that this never be spoken of again.

Thai Canary - if your on here anywhere, just been over to the QPR board to tell them I hate them again and noticed you having an argument with Northolt (who is a twat btw) you mentioned one of their posters following you around...please do tell who he is, I have struck up a not so nice relationship with a few of the QPR fans who infest our board.

Anyway good luck next season, out of the 3 teams promoted all I can say is Norwich are the only team I do not hate and wish bad bad things on.

Swansea played well at home, but often struggled away. That could cost them in the Prem, IMO.

andrewQPR, yep had a few verbal sparing matches with him. His anti-Welsh rhetoric was quite impressive, ran away from our board with his tail between his legs a few times after he was embarassed several times, our Mod simply moved every post of his to a separate thread set up for QPR WUMS.

Then all you need is to add Mark Bright and the tool trilogy will be complete.

    the dream team!

don't forget what we've got to look forward to (for those without Sky) - Lawro, Hansen, Lineker, Shearer, Dixon and Co.

Talk about a complete toolkit and workbench combo

I've actually always thought Dowie speaks a lot of sense.

He always seems to say what I'm thinking, although I suppose that's why we're both not in football management at the moment.<laugh>

Can I just say that I am also not interested in the Villa job as its not the right time for me, even though I am a master at Football Manager!
