I wouldn't laugh at the mackems.. well not yet anyway.

I've noticed quite a few thread's dissing the mackems recently.

Fair play, they are a scruffy bunch, however.. "had ya horses lads".

They've just sold Henderson for the equivalent of £16.5m plus Ngog if the latest sources are to be believed. Add that to the £18m they got for Bent and the fact they have a chairman who is actually willing to spend and the last laugh could be had by them.

Remember we have £35m from Carroll and potentially £6-8m from Enrique. However we will probably see £15m of that money if we're lucky.

Yes it's nice to think about Vaginho or Gamiero but I have no faith that we will and players like this. Someone on these forums said "I have a feeling Ashley is giving the impression of shopping in Harrod's, however he will more than likely settle for lidl". <- True that!

So all i'm saying is don't be making threads dissing them until we're sure we're not going to have C.Cole & Shola as our attacking force next season.

 

I'm afraid to say I agree with everything on here, but then how good are Wes Brown, David N'Gog, Darron Gibson and John O'Shea? Answer probably not very good.

 

Agree, we haven't signed anyone yet and it could turn out to be a dreadful summer.

 

Thing is we can attract better players and we don't know if Gervinho is joining Arsenal because apparently no bid has been made as yet. Plus if we don't get him then there are options like Menez, N'Zogbia, Sturridge and Rondon. Plenty of time.

 

Due to the fact they have spent big in previous seasons for little/No return their big spending chairman
might not be so willing this season.
However, I don't really care about them in all honesty and prefer worrying about my own club.

 

They are buying a lot of average players, spending all their Henderson money on N'Gog, Brown, O'Shea and Gibson? I'd cry if we did that with our Carroll money. We are using our scouting system to bring in good value foreign players like Cabaye and players like N'Zog apparently want to come and play for us.

 

N'gog is going to have to change his nickname if he goes to Sunderland. It's currently "Wash N'gog"

 

That would seem like the logical thing to do but we have MA in charge, more likely we'll end up with some championship players and some crap/freelance premiership players who aren't good enough at their respective clubs...

 

We want to build a squad with some experience. At the minute Steed is our only 30+ player! None of those players are guaranteed starters and would be excellent backup. I really don't understand all the celebrations on the other thread :/

 

Agree totally here. I really hope I'm wrong but the Mackems may et ave the last laugh unless the fat shopkeeper opens his wallet.....

 

Good point however I don't think for one second we're interested in Menez, N'Zogbia, Sturridge or Rondon.

More than likely it'll be a long a fruitless summer with some "token" bidding at the very end like they did when they were pretending to find a replacement for Carroll.

Add on the likes of Larsson on a free, C.Cole for a couple mil, this 1mil LB from Swansea and DJ Campbell.

However I hope your right mate, I really do!

 

We arent after Larsson or Cole, and have a genuine interest in Gervinho/N'Zog. Dont forget Cabaye or Abeid either.

I have to say I agree with the OP, although we mock them Gibson might no turn out to be a bad player, and they are improving there squad with these 4 signings!!

Gervinho is probably not coming to us in all honesty, he has a chance to play champions league and get high wages!! why would he choose Newcastle from his perspective!

Cabaye hasnt even signed yet, and as each day passes, I start to get doubts as to whether he ever will!

I cant see us getting players like Sturridge either, chelsea will keep him..

Surely we wont get players like C.Cole, but I think some fans have become slightly deluded over the last month remember we are dealing with cashley!!!

 

Cabaye yes - can't wait to see him play, Abeid was a free who wasn't wanted by Lens anymore.

I don't believe we have genuine interest in Vaginho or Nzgobia. They're both too pricey for us.

Maybe Cabaye is the red herring, making it look as though we're going to be making moves when we're not. I dron't trust MA or Pardew.

Again, I hope you're right.

I just hope we keep Barton & Nolan so we can keep that team spirit. It's the spirit that kept us up this year. I hope we can build on it.
