but he does remind me a lot of Andy Cole and Tino Asprilla. Yesterdays goal and header onto the bar to set up Cabaye being perfect examples. The goal itself and generally the way he shapes to hit the ball with the inside of his foot is strikingly (aha) similar to Cole... and for the header, well hes arms and legs everywhere. We have seen it with other goals this season as well, the chip against Swansea being one of the most obvious.

Obviously hes a cracking player in his own right, but this similarity to two strikers I grew up watching is an unexpected joy.

Also, I reckon Ive spent more time looking at the league table this season than any other I can remember. Often just staring in awe at our position, often (and as usual) just working out the permutations of our results against others. Head in the clouds all season. ****in crazy man.

He's just an incredible finisher, probably one of the best in the premier league.

I may get shot down for this but I reckon he could be the best finish in the PL after RVP. I know he's only been in the PL for a handful of games, but he's pulled off all kinds of finishes.

That finish yesterday was amazing. He had literally a balls width to aim at and with only one touch and half a second to do it in, but he scored.

    Ridiculously good finish.

As you say, people will give you the usual stuff about only playing for half a season. Having to do it regularly and against top teams etc, but why not? Hes absolutely clinical. To be honest I dont even think many outside us Toon fans will doubt him after this start hes had.

Did anyone actually know much about him before he signed? Because to be honest, other than his name and knowing he was Senegal player, I knew very little. Thank **** we didnt get that Maiga. Although I probably knew less about him than Cisse haha.
