Just been reading what Ray Wilkins is reported to have been saying about Modric, telling us that we won't keep hold of him, and that we'd be better off letting him go to Chelsea.

It really makes my blood boil. Then again, that's probably why he's saying it, because he knows that's how both Levy and Harry will be feeling, too.

Moddy going would be hard enough to bear, Moddy going to Chelsea would be agony, but seeing the smug grin on Ray Wilkins' face would be almost impossible to bear.

I hate Ray Wilkins as well, his commentary is so tedious. He is incredibly biased towards his old teams also

I bet Wilkins fails as a manager.

I wish AVB would give him his old job back at Chelsea. As La Perla said, he's a montonous bore when he commentates.

No,with Wilkins Chelsea might actually do something if he's under Vilas Boas, without him they will probably do nothing. But I cannot see Wilkins cutting it as a manager alone.

But I don't think Modric will improve Chelsea. Now I know that I'm no authority but I'm waiting to see what too many managers does to Chelsea. They might have changed just once too often. If he goes to them and they fail I'd laugh my cock off.

Who would you rather he went to? I'm assuming abroad? But would you care that much if he went to Chelsea because they'll just pay ridiculous ammounts for him where as Barcelona won't pay as much due to the fact and player would move there! If Barcelona came in for say £35m and Chelsea bid £50m which would you choose?

i Used to have a lot of time for Wilkins, but he should keep his mouth shut about what's going on at other clubs. If it came to it,and we had to sell him, i'd really love it if it was abroad, definetly not Chelski as he thinks will get him,and not Manure.

Wilkins' nickname, in the days he played, was "The Crab" because he almost never played a pass anywhere but sideways. I never rated him as a player, and I don't rate him as a pundit. Why should he give a toss about the Chavs, anyway? After the wat they treated him?

He did a great job with QPR and Fulham.

Apart from getting the former relegated, and being unable to get the latter promoted even with Mo Fayed's deep pockets...

The man was a f-ing class player - captained Chelsea at 17 and was bloody brilliant. As a pundit...yes a little biased!!

And to be fair, he didn't arrange a press conference to air his thoughts on the matter. He was asked a question and provided an answer, the same one Mabbutt gave.

Everybody's entitled to an opinion. Personally, I thought he was a very boring, negative, type of player. As to what he said, if he was asked a direct question and then responded with his opinion - Fair enough.
