I liked Claire Grogan when she was a singer - definately pumpable. I always wondered how she acquired the mars bar on her coupon. Any idea ?

 

I was told she got her jaw tanned in VIVA in Union St which was huge in the 80's but full of wee neds.

I never thought she was anything to look at to be honest... and that ****in voice........

I,d agree she was no beauty but she was a chirpy wee chanter and there was just something about her - she looked a right wee dirty thing. Never went to Viva but used to go to Joanna,s on a Sunday - class fanny.

 

I worked in Joanna's in Bath St as a Page Boy.

Basically all that meant was going round the tables collecting the empty glasses.

Always remember working there one night and the dance floor was completely empty when the DJ stuck on... " I'll Love You Forever and Ever" by Slik and they swarmed the floor.

Slik were Glasgow's answer to the Bay City Rollers and Midge Ure was lead vocals with them, that song was brilliant!

We went on a Sunday before we looked old enough to get into the pubs as Joanna's wasn't licensed on a Sunday.The fanny in Joanna's was always better class than the likes of the Electric Gardens and there was rarely any trouble. Great times and the best looking birds I ever pulled.
