I remember people saying after the Chelsea Barce game the other week, that Barce could be really horrible and boring to watch with ther constant possesion I really want us to play similar football, pass, pass, pass, loadsa of one touch stuff.Loadsa passing backwards and sideways ( if you do that the other team havnt got the ball ), in the 70s and 80s Everton used to have a song about us passin the ball backwards , I want them to start singing it again.Rodgers really has EXACTLY the same ideas about football as I do,some fans hate sideways and passing backwards, I hate GIVIN THE F**KIN BALL AWAY.Ther was FAR too much multi touch footy last season at LFC , the closer you get the opposition goal, the more one touch footy has to be played.I want players to be thinkin "were do I need to be for the guy who gets the ball NEXT to be able to to pass to me, I dont think want them ONLY thinkin about gettin into space for the guy with the ball, but also who is gonna get the ball NEXT too Someone says on another thread tika taka is pass n move, IMO tika taka is ONE TOUCH football, pass n move can be muti touch. If you play ONE touch, and do it well, it almost doesnt matter how good the opposition defence is they cant stop it, they ONE touch means they dont have time to.
So many different terms for it, but it boils down to simply dominating possession, creating space off and on the ball and fluid movement. Sometimes it's boring to watch when the gaps don't open up as easy as you'd like - such as playing park the bus teams - but that's where patience comes into play. We still have the ball, they don't. The more we have of it, the less they're going to score and with the right players, the more likely we are to score. I don't want to necessarily be bored though...although I'd be delighted if the opposition were.
