"It's good to hear teams are talking about you and other people are talking about you," said Carroll. "But the five-year deal I've just signed is serious.

"I wouldn't have signed it if I wanted to move somewhere else.

"It doesn't matter what other people or other teams are saying. This is the club I wanted to sign for.

"When I was younger this is what I wanted to do.

"Just 18 months ago I dreamt of all this.

"Now I've got it I need to stay here and keep doing what I'm doing.

"I signed a new contract and I want to be here for the rest of my life.

"I don't want to have a dream and not fulfil it."

Hatem going in the summer too? I can see that happening now as well.

To be fair, the club did try and flog him for £1m to West Ham in 2009, so he doesn't really owe you anything.

Don't see that happening unless we get relegated(which is a possiblity now)

But IMO we'll have JUST about enough to end somewhere between 16th and 13th.

Forget Europe though, Shola's heading ability is nothing compared to Carroll's!

    Liverpool fan in peace

I know the last fan you want on your board is a Liverpool one but I do sympathise with you on this point. Torres said someting similar two weeks ago then handed in his transfer request. The fickleness of the modern footballer knows no boundary

Won't be long before the realisation of what he's doen sinks in, and 'sources close to him' will be saying how it was 'difficult' and 'the hardest thing he's ever done' - doesn't wash Carroll. You WERE(past tense). That's what hurts so much. You're a liar and a mercenary. Does he realise yet, I wonder, that his life can never be the same again. He's lived here all his life, but now he can't return. He can't hang out in his usual haunts where he's comnfortable, he's exiled himself from his roots and his freinds and family. What a prize prick.

I don't think it was out of our aims. If we won our game in hand we'd be 7th (European place if FA & League Cup are won by teams already competing in Europe) then we'd have Carroll, HBA, Saylor, Gosling, Raylor and Tiote to come back. The worst part of our season was supposedly coming to an end and it looked like we'd have our full squad by the end of February. Forget us just coming up. The players we have were of enough quality to finish 7th in this league: Nolan, HBA, Gutierrez, Carroll, Coloccini, Enrique, Simpson, Tiote and Barton are all players that could fit into most Europa League strugglers (at the least! - three years ago, HBA was taking on the Liverpool team single-handedly)

It was and still could be a possibility but then so is relegation, even though realistically we will finish somewhere in the middle.

I really hope Carroll enjoys the night life in Liverpool cause he'd be really stupid to come back after this.
