Voted the top one, purely on the basis of the evidence before me. We're playing horrible and not getting as many points as we need.

Now, I could easily be completely wrong, and the players could be so **** it doesn't matter that he's the greatest manager who's ever lived, he can't do more. However, logically that would mean we're completely screwed whatever we do, so I'd prefer to believe Pardew has had some negative effect on them. I genuinely believe the squad is capable of better and he's not getting it out of them, and has an inability to do so with anything less than the best players. Surely a manager earns his crust in such situations where the best are injured and mediocre is left?

So, purely for optimism, Pardew is my scapegoat. I think there are better managers we could get, who play better football and would fit the Arsenal-lite plan much better. This shouldn't disguise the fact that a lot of people need to take a long hard look at themselves, though.

Give him until we get Remy and a CB and then fire him via text message. Give the job to JC .

    Text

No goals from set pices all season
    No away win all season
never won a game we went behind in
    subs beyond belief
    pushing over linesman
annoying fergie and didn't make a stance for the club
this is not the blueprint required
    your fired.

Give him until the end of season. That gives a chance to get the key players back who have been injured and hopefully bed in a couple of new signings. I seem to recall messing around with managers at a crucial time 4 seasons ago just added to the woes leading to us being relegated. Give Pards a chance to steady the ship with a (hopefully ) full squad.

I would give him until after the Reading game, if we cannot win that one we in serious, serious trouble and he should be gone before anymore damage is done. I don't go on this " wait till we have our strongest team back ". Our better players have played numerous games this season and we didn't win too many of those . We have been crap all season, our defenders are shocking at set plays at both ends, we have conceeded the most headed goals in the Premiership and haven't scored a set piece ourselves all season.
We lack any creative midfielders apart from Cabaye and now we have one forward of any use,Cisse.

Only the board know how much support he's getting, whether he's protecting them from blame and so on - we are not a club where fans matter, we are a club where profit is king and the owner does whatever he wants. So what we feel means nothing. Look at Chelsea - did Roman put the fans first in appointing Benitez? Same thing here - we have an arrogant owner who cares not one stitch about the fan view. Yes, he needs Prem status, whatever his goals - but what we think is utterly irrelevant.

I reckon until the end of the season. If he can't do it with a full squad and a few new players in then he should go. Although people like Moyes have had the odd bad season at their clubs and are doing ok now.

He is quoted as saying we are talking to 3 or 4 more players and they are "warming up nicely".

There are mistakes this season, but last year the strongest XI - with no Europe - played well over 20 times. This season, the strongest XI has yet to actually line up together. Wait it out, we will NOT go down.

The only real positives I can actually see from this season if Pardew stays, assuming we don't win the Europa somehow, is that it will be a massive learning experience for the board and manager, which should make us stronger. I really don't see Pardew as being anywhere near the talent of Moyes with regards getting the best out of players, or playing decent football even (and Moyes isn't especially known for this), but if he could take something from this experience and improve, it would be incredibly beneficial.

Haven't got anything against people who still have faith in Pardew, I hope they're right <diva>

Nicely put. Right about the football - we have never played great football under Pards at all. We were at our tenacious best against Man U last year, but last year was built on solid defensive displays and a huge team spirit, plus Sir Alex was right - the surprise element caught a lot of teams out, they didn't expect us to turn up with the tempo we did. But I don't ever remember thinking "wow, Barca eat your heart out". This year has been lacking in so many ways - poor management re: Ba, poor tactics, lower tempo and urgency, players either injured or shadows of their previous season and as said NUFC being known and to a point found out a bit. Everton did this too, though. They had a solid season in finishing 7th (2003), but the following season struggled up til around March near the foot of the table, eventually finishing just above relegation in 17th. After that, they did something similar. They finished 4th, fabulous achievement, but followed it up (with Euro commitments) by finishing a mediocre 11th, and that was down to a barnstorming end of season. Since then, they have stabilized - 6th, 5th, 5th, 8th, 7th and look likely to be top 8 again. It doesn't look much different from us. Everyone should probably calm down a bit. We are not going to line up with Cabaye, Cisse, Ben Arfa, Colo, Krul, Debuchy, Santon and so on and go down.

Hate it when people say this, how long exactly are we supposed to wait. Why will we not go down, is it because we have players coming back... are we once again "too good to go down"?

We're in the ****, have been for a while and still even now (Man U & Arsenal games aside) still show no signs of changing those two games where we actually tried to play some decent football with a depleted team and actually looked to be getting some where have since seen us go back again to this hoofball ****e that we've just served up today and the previous two before it.

A lot is resting on how we do this transfer window, but there again a lot was resting on the summer and those above managed to royally balls that one up as well.

This! All that tosh about 'purple' players that Derek spouted out. It was clear to all of us that we needed at least 2 more quality players who were good enough for the first team. Especially defence. But no, we had 11 'purple' players so that's fine. Forget injuries, suspensions - and even selling one!

The squad is not good enough to compete for any silverware. Survival will be tough enough now. Ashley needs to spend in this window or we could be in the Championship again. Simples!

Magicbus and Obi are bang on. The club is ran horribly at the very top. Read between the lines of ba's comments when he left and he wasn't having a pop at the club but the management of it. Let's not forget that Ashley is a gambler, he gambled in the summer with a lack of investment and I fear he will do the same this window. I am personally very worried about our prospects of remaining in the prem this season but don't necessarily think bringing in a new manager at this stage is the answer.
