Have to be honest and say, why on earth would you think Leeds would be involved in the purchase of players during the transfer window? I would suggest that there are financial concerns at the club just now and that this has resulted in the need to bring in more income and lessen the wage bill. As yet I don't have the evidence for what I have suggested, but I'll try to get some. Under the current board and club management, we are a selling club, we have players who are assets to the club and we have others who are simply there to make up enough players for a squad. I presonally know of a player at the club who the board agreed to sell on Tuesday, but concerns over the level of impact on supporters of the sale of this player and Gradel, meant the board (to my surprise) got nervous and have asked that this deal be looked at again in January 2012. We will only bring in players who are either out of contract or free to join, we will also use the loan system to the maximum level, you just need to get used to that fact. Forget transfer windows, they mean very little to Leeds fans (except players leaving), it's the loan system that kicks in again in 7 days time that you need to watch for.
Spot on. Presume the player you talk about is either, Howson, Snoddy or Becchio. None of whats left would have any impact on the supporters. To be honest, most of the supporters have become so brainwashed, they'll accept nearly anything now I feel
I can confirm that the player in question was not Howson. However I understand that a club from the Premiership did enquire about Howson yesterday and that perhaps it was too late to get a deal in place. Sadly it may be the January transfer window that we really get hit for six.
