Before the season started I did say that Warnock was not up to the Premiership, that statement got me slated buy most of you guys. Well half way into the season and all is not well, BIG TIME! Warnock has made **** loads of mistakes in his team selection and his pony tactics. the guy ain't gotta clue, so he now thinks he can buy his way out of trouble...Nah i don't think so, we need to part company with this lower league icon ASAP! otherwise we'll be back playing Barnsley and co!
I'm sorry but I completely disagree. This current mess was caused by Briatore/Ecclestone not allowing the right money to be spent to allow players to come in for pre-season. All is not well - I agree - but we must give him a chance to bring some more reinforcements in. Changing Manager now would be virtual suicide - as our relatively recent swing-door policy shows. Neil Warnock and the team need our backing now - not slating.
Agree Sing but as I have said on here countless times you cannot be sentimental because he got us promoted. It isnt happening, everybody can see that.If he doesnt go we will get relegated. If you are all happy with that, and I for one wouldnt be upset, then thats fine, but theres no point calling for his head at the end of March. It will all be over by then.
FourFourTwo did a good piece on it a few months back, a pre-season is one of the most important things for players in a team, a good example is Edin Dzeko who's done way better with a pre season under his belt
We're making way too many excuses for warnock. How long does he need to gel a team? One season? Two? He made 5-6 decent signings in September, that's four months ago. Yet while other teams are improving, we're getting worse. His deficiencies at this level have been laid bare for all to see.
i asked this a while ago on this site and no one has anwser thi swho else do you bring untill then lets stick with neil. sadley the only person i would like have seen has just started to sort out sunderland
Whilst NW deserved every chance following the fantastic job he did in both saving us from the drop & then getting us promoted he still has to be judged on his current performance which isn't good. Given the chance how many people would vote for a new manager if ensured we stayed up - I know I would.
Really sorry to say this but I think NW needs a MAXIMUM of 3 more league games. We will lose at St James', we SHOULD beat Wigan, and the Villa game is anyones guess. His future at LR depends on these results.
who would come in, or wo would want to come in IF we did get rid of NW? Can't see Mark Huges coming, reckon he will want smething more established than us - that was a reason he left Fulham or let his contract expire. NW just neds a bit of time, if we finish 17th I would still be happy
Some people have real short memories. Paul Hart, anyone? If the nay-sayers really believe that Warnock got the players he wanted at the start of the season, when he basically had four days of the transfer window in which to operate - they are stupid. Had Feranndes and Bhattia been in charge at the end of last season, the team would be very different to the one we have now. Give the guy a chance.
Agreed, but at the same time NW should also be more tactically aware & getting more out the current crop of players which sadly he's not.
I think it is more complex than that. I am a Warnock fan but completely agree there is no room for sentiment and if he does not have what it takes then off he goes with thanks and goodwill from everyone at LR. Consider the complexities: 1) Briatore and Ecclestone embargo transfers as mentioned 2) Some sharp transfers - Barton, Traore, Ferdinand and SWP and one dud who has gone back to Soton 3) The mystery of Adel. Where was he for the first half of the season and why is he back playing now. What is Warnock's role in that? Could be hero or villain 4) Some very bad luck resulting in games that we might have won being drawn or lost 5) Injuries - never helps 6) Formation. Many here question why he plays 1 up front and that perhaps is a weakness 7) We don't know how much money he does actually have to spend 8) Personal issues eg ? Barton and Adel. If guys take a dislike to eachother that can be damaging and hard to fix. As I have posted on another thread, come 25.2.12, if we are in the drop zone after that game, only a miracle will save us.
Sorry but cannot go down that road now. The players have had long enough to bed. We cannot keep blaming 'Tango and Cash' for bad tactics/subs/taking off the best players/playing one up front at home/poor player discipline/losing leads at home to poor teams/losing to Norwich... Although i don't know what to do about our current situation i won't use them as an excuse.
I am a Neill supporter but admit to feelings of is this league to big for him,if we were to change there is nothing out there to replace him with.sometimes its better the devil you know.Im sure TF will give him the funds needed and just hope he spends wisely.
NW stated from the moment he took over, he needed one team to compete in Championship, and one to compete in premiership. We gained promotion earlier than expected, and as far as I see, he still hasn't completed building his premiership team. So we have been higher in the table.....guess what, fook all is won and lost in January. The majority on here said they would be happy with 17th spot come May...so what's changed? We should be getting behind NW and the team rather than constantly digging at each other. We can all see we have players that are out of theri depth here in the top division - something NW has been aware of for some time. Where would we be if Flav and Bernie had opened their wallets..god only knows, al they said was that he team we had that got us up were good enough for the premier league. Thank fook TF came along, without his initial investment we would be well and truely down and out. The players we got in were almost lastminute.com purchases....and it does take time to build something that will last. Some of our current players also need a huge size 14 boot up their jacksie because they just aren't performing at the level they can perform at. There seem to be more debates about this than ever before...just remember, before flav and bernie came in we were scratching around trying to just survive. We should be enjoying our run in the top league..even if we aren't firing on all cyclinders. Come on you fellow R's...let's be the twelve man at the games and sing our hearts out for the boys!!
Yes but he still signed young, traore, ferdinand, Barton, Bothroyd and swp....to go with Kenny, Tarbs and Faurlin. They may not have been the players he wanted but hell I wouldn't be complaining with these 8 names in my side. I recall fans were pretty happy at the time. Warnock has underachieved with a decent team. Sadly, we've lowered our standards by making excuses for him.
