I think we have enough quality in the squad we just need one more solid striker

All this n'zogbia, barneta, matudi business i think its all speculation and paper talk if im honest, people say we lack squad depth but i actually think the squad is a bit overcrowded at the present time.

Of course if we have important departures then we should replace them, but overall i think we need to get rid of 2 strikers (but who? rangers attitude sucks but he could end up being great, best showed his worth, shola will have one good game now and then, lovenkrands seems like a good bloke to have around and can also have some good games) a midfielder (smith) and a defender (perch)

We should sign a top young striker as our priority, i think we are sorted in all other areas now except maybe a defensive utility man like john o shea or as suggested neil taylor (not perch)

However people forget ryan taylor, hes not THAT bad as an rb hes really is not THAT bad in general, his free kicks are mint and i think he gets undeserved stick, moreover Ferguson can actually cover the left back slot at a decent level, people say hes a left winger etc etc but hes not useless as a defender ive seen him play games there and do just fine.

If enrique stays and barton stays (gutierrez and colocinni is just paper talk and unless we are notified of an offer enrique and barton deals are paper talk aswell) then as far as im concerned we only need one top youngish striker and i would be content with that.

  2. No, we need two. Ba looks good but is a bit risky. I'd still go for two new strikers.

I think we need one more striker and an attacking midfielder and another left back and centre back

I'd say we need a quality striker approaching his prime, an up and coming striker and more defensive cover. But with the money we have we should probably be aiming to improve the defence too, could do with a new RB who can defend and cross, and possibly another quality CB.

I'd take another striker and Taylor and I'd be happy with that if no-one else leaves but i'm still hoping for 1 of Barnetta or n'zogbia
depends though on the rumours about players leaving. I reckon Jose will leave but hopefully Jonas and Collo will stay but you have to say it's not too hard to imagine them all leaving, then we'd have to replace them all (Barnetta or Zog/M'bengue/Some CB would cover it)

Fair play ill have to agree, two new strikers would be preferable but only if they are both mint, and we need to get rid of shola or somebody, somethings got to give lets be honest, i cant see mcloven kicking up a fuss but somebody has to leave...

Shola probably should but never will
Lovenkrands although not great has something about him that makes me like him
Best is good enough to be 2/3 choice
Ranger will go for the most money and is just a cock

Assuming Enrique goes I think we need to sign two left backs. One first team, one cover.

    I would go for:

2 LB's (cover and first team)
    1 CB (cover)
    1 RB (cover/competition for Simpson)
    1 pacy striker (first team)

I still think we are light.....
    Look at our forwards
Ba,Best,Lover,Ranger,Bambi - To early to tell with Baa and I dont mind Best as back up but the other three just not good enough
so to start with we aint going to score enough.
Now no experience in midfield just a load of injury plagued French men [good on their day WHEN FIT]Unless Barton stayed which is unlikely.

Also guys you have to bear in mind we can cover pretty much any position with good prospects from the youth team who could do with the odd sub appearence, we dont need to splash the cash unless its on a starting line up player...

If we get a new CB then taylor or williamson wont be happy, also we have kadar who can do a job and some other half decent youth players.

If we get ANOTHER CM or wide-man then thats going to create more tension in those positions, we want competition but not disillusionment, the balance has to be right, players need to have the hope of a chance or else it breeds negativity and resentment. Gosling hasnt even played for us yet, hes basically a new signing, we have plenty of options.

Striker-wise its a toughy, shola will rate himself better than he actually is so will likely be grumpy if he never gets a game, mcloven is a professional but how long is his contract for? leon best is probably the best striker at the mo and has time to develop futher, nile ranger can have an impact he does rattle defenders hes just a bit clumsy but at least he has pace and at his age by the time hes 27 he might be one of the best big men in the prem, you never know...

The striker dilema is deffinately the trickiest situation and with very promising players like airey also availiable we aint short of options, moreoever i though sammy ameobi was meant to be pants but he looks miles better than shola already he actually has pace...

Hmmm, I think despite having a massive injury list, our more influential players managed to go through the majority of the season unscathed, had it been the other way around I reckon we'd have been ****ed!

Personally I don't rate Ryan Taylor. I think he's gash, he played reasonably well at CDM but so did Perch. Neither are good enough for us to progress!

I agree that some of the players we're linked to are simply newspaper links, but I don't think we'd progress to far up the table with what we currently have without a LOT of luck next season!
