Consider the following: The abuse / vitriol at LR when we won 1:nil. They felt Foy played for us AVB credited us for derailing Chelsea's season. All they had to do was consider these factors for the pre talk game, pause and consider that many of their players by himself is worth more than most of our squad and determine that they were going to teach us a lesson. Job done. Bloodied nose. We need to accept this together, (board, players and fans) move on together and do our damnest to stay up so we can serve revenge next year as it is served best. Cold, detached and clinical. We have seen so many times what happens when the club is not united. Do we really want to go there again? It is the way to the wilderness.

Nah, I feel you are overplaying it. When a team is confident and as good as Chelsea are, when they click sooner or later somebody will be on the receiving end. I had been saying for months under AVB we don't have the players to play 4-3-3. Under this 4-2-3-1 formation we look much better and more solid. GD is imperative for us as well because we may need it to get 4th or even 3rd, there is every chance we could get 3rd if we win our last 3 games and if we do and Arsenal drop a point at WBA we could be ahead of them on goal difference. The players must be on cloud 9 after beating Barca and it showed. No matter what happens, you'll bounce back
Fair point DL. That was also part of the pschology. We assumed that Chelsea were going to be tired, wary of their next important games etc but perhaps Hughes and Co underestimated the boost of beating Barca in their own back garden. Incidentally, none of my comments are meant to detract from the superior and masterful display of football from Chelsea. I am not trying to say we got thumped and it might have been different 'if only' etc. I am looking for any reason to explain what appeared to be a such a woeful and gutless display from my own team.
