without bendtner, who is like it or not, our best striker, and without cattermoles big influence in our midfield, we looked half the side we have been over the last few weeks. I think we need a proper Lb, a CM to replace vaughan, possibly 2 new strikers, wickham isnt ready, ji isnt good enough. larsson is a difficult one, despite his great delivery and set piece danger, he is very slow, has no skill, and often slows our attack down, i think a quick RW is needed to battle larsson for his place. I think for those who criticise ricco havnt played a game of football in there lives, yes he is a poor LB, but thats where he is asked to play, how can anyone criticise someone when they are in an unnatural position? When he plays for us in an attacking role, he is always a threat, it baffles me why he is asked to play left back, but i suppose you would have to ask SB + MON that. Overall, we are still in the cup, and im sure we will beat boro in 10 days time.
Yeah i agree maybe Bendtner might not so much stick when he gets back because we are struggling holding onto the ball in forward positions without him. Agree with a new LB, needed one for a while and another Sunderland striker, there is talk about Davies, dont know if he is the answer but cant hurt to bring him in if MON thinks we need them. Cant drop Larsson, too important for set pieces, pains me to say but 4-5-1 using Sess in the hole to make the 5 might be the way to go, we need to build posession in the midfield area. Ricco is not a LB, but i think he is a good LW and possible replacement for Sess if injured. I hope we do go through, but with probably AV next it only gets harder.
Rico gets slagged off for being played out of position, and this has been going on season after season, and normally the same folk slagging him off. And yet the lad plays where the manager asks him to, why cant these folk get their heads around that? As for strikers we need one or more NOW badly, would still like Samba as well.

Agree with you there Bill, can't slag the lad for being played out of position, everyone can see he is not a natural defender but Bruce failed to address the situation. I think this summer we will finally see a proper left back signed and Rico may get a run of games in his natural position. If he then fails to impress and he then gets some stick then fair enough. I don't think he actually enjoys playing left back but fair play to him you don't hear him moaning about it.

As for the summer and what today showed for me was... * we need a left back and a right back both who is good on the ball and fast, Richardson who is a favourite of mine has look disinterested the last couple of times I have seen him at left back, Bardo was ok but need more strength in depth. * we are totally one paced in central midfield and MoN has already spoke about addressing pace into the side and IMO we need it in central midfield with a player who ain't just quick but also good on the ball and can unlock defences. * another player like Sess, need more attacking options further up the pitch. * a target man who can play with the ball on the floor so we don't go stoke style. * Gyan back in the red and white

You were not known by that name on this forum, wums are two a penny on here so if your keeping the name then you will have to get used to the stick being viewed as a wum attracts on 606. I'm surprised you will not modify your name on 606 - it sort of adds to the suspicion your a wum(as you seem to enjoy antagonising the original Cest). Even if you browsed the forum briefly you would have come across the original Cest's contributions as they are so prolific and you would have noticed he is referred to as Cest colloquially. If you don't respect others how can you expect them to respect you and your opinons(I'm not talking about being liked).
