Well, not really but I am really warming to Moussa Dembele. I think he is a super player, big and strong, good touch, comfortable with the ball and difficult to get the ball off. His final pass needs some work but I reckon he is a great player to have at Fulham. Future captain? Have we had a player like him at Fulham in the last 10 years? COYW
The closest I can think of is Steed. In the old days watching him at CC, you were on the edge of your seat wondering what was going to happen. Boa was also a bit like that but a little less consistent. I saw a caption underneath a picture of Steed when he was playing for us that said 'Steed: French for 'sweet right foot' Couldn't have put it better myself.
I've said more than once I'd pay my season ticket just to watch Dembele so I guess I'm a bit 'head over heels' as well. He's all of what Craving says and with a deceptive touch of pace. Anybody else in the last 10 years? Still reminicing but Bandit has a good call. Steed had (on the evidence at the moment) more awareness for the telling pass - and of course the odd extra goal.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the title of this thread, I was ready with the sharpened knives due to my girlfriend breaking up with me a few days ago, in anticipation to read a valentines day themed article, thank God it was FFC related. I still love Ruiz by the way.
ruiz, dembele, dempsey long may we keep these 3, i will enjoy moussa why we stil have him, more skillful than steed, but at the moment steed more the all round player, i have never seen a player dance round players like moussa does
My worry is that Dembele will dance straight out of our front gates during the summer. I'd like him to be fairly annonymous between now and season end to be honest, otherwise we will lose him to Spurs or Liverpool or Sunderland or someone with a lot of money who can offer him European football and big wages. But yes, he is a lovely player but agree with DR he dances along the edge of the box and there is no end product - or not often enough anyway. Very like Boa to be honest. Takes on a five man defence, beats the lot and misses the target or over-runs the ball or has a tame shot straight at the keeper.
Fulhamman, I agree with your sentiment mate but I'd much prefer to see him play brilliantly for a season, then leave than just be mediocre. It's better to have loved and lost than not loved at all. Sorry Bandit if that's rubbing salt in the wounds but you'll get over her ol' son!
