    This is just for fun.
The team you most feel QPR are similar to in their fan base, not amount, but loyalty. playing style or pedigree, or even history.
Yes I know we can say we are unique, and that there is only one of us.
But if one other team reflects us, who would you say?
From conference to premiership, I have my own idea on this one and one team pops into my head for some reason.............
I shall reveal my team in 24 hours.

wellington phoenix in the a league
good defence..lots of pretty passing..but once they get into the opposition box were more likely to squander the chance than score..used to make me bloody homesick every time i saw them play

Southampton (before they moved to St. Marys). With Norwich closely following.

You are becoming a good thread starter 999, well done.
I think W.Ham are a bit bigger than us, I like Norway's answer.

Having been going to LR for the best part of 50 years I have rarely seen anything like the passion and blind commitment that Pompey fans seem to have. Mind you I'm not sure I would be entirely comfortable with that level of unthinking loyalty. Norwich springs to mind as having supporters with a more measured take on things like we have.

Interesting that Norwich have been mentioned so early on in the thread.
For what it is worth I have always associated QPR as a similar club to ours. Small in stature, smallish (Compared to the big clubs) loyal fan base (although ours is now growing), family friendly and not usually hostile towards each other at either ground.

Norwich is a decent answer although they averaged around 25k gate last yr didn't they? We're around 10k behind that.

Perhaps Charlton would be closer? London based too

I used to think we had a lot in common with West Ham i.e. style of play, tight ground and a fair few connections over the years with tranfers but that has faded somewhat.

However since I live in the Netherlands my local club FC Utrecht reminds me of the R's a little as it has a fairly tight ground, a solid core of support, tends to punch above it's weight and produces the odd player that goes on to do greater things;apart from that have also diced with the administrators a couple of times.

The poster asked us to ignore gate size Swords.

Thai: for the most part it is a pleasure to mix with Norwich fans (Delia apart) and I genuinly hope that QPR supporters are viewed the same (although we did seem to be attracting a few nutters last season). Nothing scientific but the fortunes of QPR and Norwich seem to have coincided a lot over the years.

There have been some minor scuffles between 'The Lads' from each side over the years and sadly I doubt that will ever go away. In the main though, a trip to Loftus Road was always a decent day out and never felt threatened in any way. I am sure most QPR fans that have visited Carrow Road have the same kind of experience.

I was thinking more of the fact we've both flirted with success, hovered in or around the top flight, clueless owners, administration etc.

And hey, you can't say our fans lack passion too, if this forum is anything to go by! :emoticon-0105-wink:

Ok, I was thinking of posting an article about this a month or so ago, but for history, especially at the boardroom level, I'd say Harchester United (if anyone watched Dream Team when it was on Sky)!!!!!!

I'd like to think we're in some ways equivalent to Norwich... or Ipswich come to that (sorry Norwich!).

BUT given our meagre resources now, it looks like we're going to have to adopt an approach reminiscent of the fearless Wimbledon 'crazy gang' asking unanswerable questions of the Premier knobs!
