Walking around town yesterday my wife spotted that the City game was on the telly in a local watering hole, much to my surprise. When I got there the whole place was seething with supporters of a well known northern club playing in some kind of European thing who made a mockery of our more important match being shown on a small telly right in the corner. I sat down to watch the match that had no commentary and the whole thing was spoiled by those other supporters because it broke my focus on the the real football. Apart from all those distractions I tried my best to watch the game but didn't really get in to it and to be frank we didn't exactly appear to playing in a great contest and I missed all the nuances that went on during play. Anyway we won and those semi-ugly performances are the key to success and the three points ended up in our bag - thank you very much! As I left the building I couldn't help but notice that the other lot were not in a very good mood so I decided not to rub the fact that we won and they didn't in their faces. All in all a disappointing watch with all the distractions but well done City.
