    If most first team players took part then that's a positive. Newcastle are the type of side we need to be beating.

    It was a Newcastle XI apparently, according to Hartlepool Mail, Gosling (who scored for them), Adam Campbell, Gouffran and Obertan were mentioned in the Newcastle team.

    It also says our other goal was scored by Alberto, which makes more sense as Sterling was playing for the England under-21s tonight.
