During pre match drinks in paddy whacks and the usual pre match banter my mates and i came to the conclusion that without doubt steve bruce would make more than the required 2 changes despite him using the excuses in previous weeks that we need a more settled defence. Low and behold when we get to the stadium we find out that steve "the tactical genius" bruce has decided to bring in oshea and move bardo to lb, ricco to lw, sess to up front and put elmo at rw. So thats 5 changes to the team when we were only missing 2 players. Now is it me or does this go against everything steve bruce says at the end of a game about why we didn't win ie too many changes to the team, we need to keep a settled back four etc etc. Anyone with a bit of sense would have kept the same back four, personally i think ricco has been doing ok at lb the last couple of games and to move him will just unsettle him as has sess at lw so to me it was daft to start shuffling them about. Personally i would of stuck with 442 and played ji from the start or even given noble the nod after his hat-trick against the scum 2nd string. as for rw i would have put elmo straight in or maybe even moved sess to the right and given the young lad cook or mclean a chance to shine on the left. Overall tho todays performance was dismal and i am seriously debating whether to go next week or should i just sit at home and watch the paint dry on my sitting room wall?!
I've had my fill until Bruce has gone... I'll be picking and choosing which games to attend and watching from afar until the day arrives.
It's simple,really.....nobody understands what the heck Bruce is on about...he's on a different planet to the rest of us.I'm sure that he thinks that tactics are mints!!
