If we go down, I think we should actually keep Hughton for at least the first ten games. I think he might actually be quite good at that level, as is shown by his Newcastle and Birmingham days.

If we stay up, I think we should sack him the moment we are safe. He is clearly not up to the job.

One things for sure, if we bring in Neil Adams it will be Terry Connor mark II.

but with 1 game to go, it wouldnt make a blind bit of difference. TC came in with weeks to go in the league!

He doesn't deserve anytime in charge next season, if we stay up or go down.

I'm just not interested in anything he has to offer, his post match interviews, his footballing ideals, his awful tactics.

A truly horrible manager to have at the club who is knocking down all the good will built up over the last 3 years.

Knowing CH he will buy Roger Johnson in the close season. 3 relegations in 3 seasons.

Maybe it will be too late for him by then, but I genuinely think he might succeed at that level. If he got us back up, though, sack him as soon as we are promoted. He is utterly mediocre.

I don't understand why he chose to destroy one successful element to satisfy another, and do it straight away.

It was a conscious decision of his, he knew what would happen, particularly with his lowly opinion of the players.

    Its a stupid approach.

If he got us promoted again nobody is going to want him sacked (unless the manner of promotion was akin to what we have seen this season)

If I had to make just one criticism of him, it was that he did not have the imagination to see the qualities of the players he inherited. In fact, I think total lack of imagination or vision is the reason he will always be a completely mediocre manager.

When we signed him, I genuinely thought he had made the right decision, so I can't blame McNally. Hughton looked good on paper, but he is just woefully inadequate at this level.

I do not want to see us going through managers like underwear changes. There is something to be said for the attitude of "you got us into this mess you get us out of it". Up until joining us, his record was good enough. I don't know what the style of football was but have to believe the stats don't lie at Newcastle, who were rampant in the Championship.
If we go down, and it isn't a given by any means, part of me wants the CEO to tell him turn stop the stupid tactics and turn it straight around. But another part of me doesn't want him with a war chest of £25M to waste on defenders. If we go down, we will need to be positive to get out.

I fully believe there is no defending Hughton, he has shown absolutely no qualities required to be a Premier league manager. I agree that changing managers too often is not a good idea but seriously why would you keep CH. From the beginning he was telling our players they weren't good enough, great way to instil confidence. He has no imagination, no attacking ideas and never has had a plan B. He is in the mould of Hamilton, Rioch and Roeder, just here for the money and a total f**k up.
They didn't cancel the end of season dinner to focus the players on the WBA game, it is because they know there would have been a big backlash by the fans, which would have been too embarrassing.
Whatever happens get rid of him, and start to rebuild with an ambitious manager who will motivate the players the way Lambert did and attack not play every game to draw.
if we stick with CH we could be heading for league 1 this time next year:emoticon-0101-sadsm
