A midfielder is needed in January. Its not that I don't trust Spearing. Its because we are suddenly looking very thin in the middle. Plus I see Spearing as more suited to play next to Lucas than in place of Lucas. Lucas is also the only player of his kind at Liverpool. Agree or disagree?

Another raid on Newcastle for Tiote might be in order for you guys, I don't think Spearing provided enough of a presence in disrupting Fulham's play last night.
I would start to feel bad for Newcastle if we nabbed another one of their players, they're practically becoming our feeder club! But yea, Tiote would be a viable option...
The geordies are already incredibly bitter towards us after Carroll and Enrique, as if disliking Dalglish wasn't enough as it is. Would be funny if we actually got Tiote.
Makes little financial sense really! Good player but Newcastle will not sell cheaply(especially to us) and he's gonna be no help in January as he is away for ACON! Add to this the fact that when Lucas is back we will have him, Tiote and Spearing fighting for one place. I think a stop gap loan is the best option if possible and if not then we have to use Spearing. To sign someone for say 10mil(minimum) to be back up to Lucas if he gets back to his best is probably not the priority right now, I would prefer to sign a promising young player(which Spearing is) than splash the cash this way.
