..im still not sure that he has got the credit he deserves for his abilities as a player, perhaps only in Spain,Italy ,Holland and Denmark , I remember him playing in those times and he was just totally unreal , coming in from wide positions and playing inbetween the lines , nice to see him teaching some of this to our Swans , fantasy football in a fantasy time with a fantasy football manager at the healm !! its totally surreal being a Swans fan these days !

some rare footage in the following video

They say he still has the skills, im pretty sure there are things he could show players with a ball that no other manager could replicate with with a clip board ala Rodgers and jose mourinho . To be able to tell a player and to be able to actually show him stuff first hand has to be a Laudrup strong point . You see Michu copying Laudrups look away pass these days for example , I would love to see the training sessions to see if he gets involved with the 5 a sides . The players have said he is the most skilful in training ! not bad for a 50yr old !

I found this where Stoichkov describe Michael Laudrups personality

"From more than hundred goals that I scored I´m sure that over 50 were assisted by Michael. To play with him was extremely easy. We found each other by intuition on the field and found common football language. Look at Ivan Zamorano. Laudrup went there (Real) and Zamorano is a goalscorer. Sometimes I envy Ivan for the passes he receives. Passes on foot after you accelerated. Few people understand football like the Danish player. He can only be comprised with Maradona, Schuster or Roberto Baggio. They make things easy and find the right solutions. For them is simple, for the opponent - unthinkable. Phenomenal! His (Laudrups) only problem is his character. He is emotional and terribly reserved. This affects him a lot, because he takes everything personally - no matter if someone tells him something or decision that he does not agree. His relations with Cruyff were delicate because he couldn´t take the critics. I listen to him but I don´t care that much. For Michael this was fatal. He couldn´t take it anymore so he left without a word."

I think we should charge to watch the weekly 5 a sides. People would go to see him alone.

I'm in town for the last week of Nov. and that's one thing I am going to do if it's allowed is to watch a practice.

I think the pathway that runs behind the training ground is pretty good viewing , though they have planted trees around there to block our the view if I remember correctly, I was there back in June and had a look at the facility, its very impressive I must say .

Laudrup is still fit, hasnt grown a large belly like many managers who have played football before, he trains with his players and 50 is a good age if you still have some athleticism left.

I know being a great player does not make him a great manager, but you can see the Swans trying to play positive football. I really hope what Dai is saying about the west stand giving him grief about tactics is not true. Now that would be embarrassing. I think we are lucky to have him, and team are capable of playing the best football ever seen by a Swans team.

Thanks for the video link Norway.

The way he ran through players as if they wern`t there using his short double tap footwork was sublime , a true great of old. Hope some of our lads can at least part master his ball dribbling on the run technique.

I was thinking that today, watching laudrup make passes looking the opposite way and then him telling half the first team how to centre a ball into a striker , madness really when you think about how poor crossing is in general in the whole premier league let alone a the swans
