He visited my place of work, did a walk around and spoke to me and grumpyoldtiger for a while. We shook his hand and chatted to him for a bit. A thoroughly nice man who talked football with us and showed an interest in our jobs. I felt a bit daft, but enjoyed it! Top stuff.
Well????? Surely you didn't let him escape before you found out all his plans for the January window.......
No, sadly not, though I now consider him a close personal friend, and I'm sure I will be invited round for tea by him and Mrs Bruce sooner rather than later. He stood right next to my desk! Brilliant it was.
I got filmed chatting to him! Two professional cameramen there, bright lights shining. It was impromptu, hence why I felt daft, but when he came over I can hardly decline the opportunity to speak to him? I more or less immediately declared myself a season pass holder, much to the amusement of my colleagues who took the piss afterwards. I didn't care. Grumpy was right in there too, up like a shot to shake his hand and say hello. He chatted to us for a good 5 to 10 minutes, kind of like a fan really rather than the manager. Said it looks like Meyler's going back, hardly a scoop I know, but he confirmed it. I've forgotten a lot of what was said, I mainly just sat there quite red faced saying "yeah, brilliant" , but it was nice to meet him and he was a gent. LOL!
