Wenger looked like a broken man this evening. When you compare him to the guy who used to go toe to toe with Fergie there's not a lot left.

Screw that! Nani's far too good for Arsenal.

If we are getting rid of him flog him off abroad and pick up Walcott at the end of the season for a free. That way we get a nice sum of money, a mediocre squad player and Arsenal get royally shafted.

When Fergie starts to support you (like he does Wenger) you know you are in trouble and no longer any credible threat. Wenger is the worst "has been" manager I have seen for a very very long time. How their fans (and club board) still think he is up to it is beyond me.

I don't take any particular joy from seeing Arsenal fail. They were our closest rival for a few years, and I loathed the way Wenger and some of the fans thought that they'd invented a new kind of football, but either side of that period they were just Arsenal. I'd be lying however if I didn't admit to some satisfaction from watching Wenger wind it back in as when Arsenal were good he was pretty objectionable, particularly when he spoke about United. This will be his last season in English football. There's nothing left for him to work on at Arsenal.

I much prefer Arsenal to Chelsea.

Arsenal actually competed with us (and beat us on occasion) through their own merit, they didn't simply appear on the horizon one day with a billion pounds and legions of shiny new plastic supporters.

    Bit sad to see this:

It is own bl00dy fault. He rules the roost at Arsenal but he seems to have become an owner (shareholder) instead of their manager.

Why the f**k he worries about value for money is beyond me. His problem should be to put out a competitive team. Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world football and their balance sheet is very very healthy. Why he does he refuse to buy a player for 15 million when he values him at 10 million? Ferguson thinks "we need this player. we´ll get him. beacuse he is good, there´ll be an auction and his price will rise".

Wenger will only get the player that no one else wants. I do not mind him around because he will probably just edge out the miserable scousers for 4th year in year out. even when/if the scousers improve significantly enough to reach that point.

As much as Wenger and the club became a bunch of self satisfied tossers with their 'we play the best football' bollocks I still feel a bit of disappointment at what they've become.

There's also a bit of me that delights in how **** they are but set that aside and they are, always were and should still be the benchmark London giants. They used to ooze class and knew how good they were and had the success and trophies to back it up. Something those classless ****stains with their odious fans Chelsea will never, ever, have. Tottenham need to start winning things before they can mention themselves in the same breath too.

I'd much prefer Arsenal as competition from London than Chelsea, I used to anticipate those game whereas couldn't really care much of a **** about Chelsea, although hats off to them winning the CL last year of course.

Wenger's problem is he brought all of this on himself. All of it is his own fault, once Adams, Keown, Bould, Dixon and Winterburn were gone and he realised he had no backbone in his side he decided that he'd set up a campaign to get tackling banned from football to allow his lightweight little dears play tippy tappy nonsense so we could all **** off at how beautiful they are.

The problem for him is that his players very much believed him but no one else did, so he's got a buch of wimps who are scared of tackles, and to tackle, and so now they are incapable of dominating games. They haven't even got the flair anymore.

You only have to look at the ridicuous ****ing haircuts of some of his players to realise that the're more interested in all that **** than getting stuck into the nitty gritty. It's why they could never cope with Bolton and Blackburn. His players wear gloves in November for ****'s sake.

Samir Nasri is scared of being hit by a football. Wengers fault.

This, but don't forget what Wenger brought to the club. When you look at players like Toure, Nasri and Clichy who he bought for a grand total of less than £20 million and turned into world beaters, then look at the same tubby wasters stealing their wages after being sold to City for over £50 million, you really appreciate how good he was at turning ****e into good footballers. Arguably better than SAF in that regard although, ironically enough give the Arsenal fans' claims, SAF was much better at bringing young players through and turning them into true world beaters.

If anything, Wenger's a victim of his own success. He's gotten so good at turning dross into something decent that he no longer feels the need to actually find and buy good players like Henry, Vieira and Campbell, none of which were signings that really broke the bank. He'd rather take the easy way out and get the second tier players that will allow him to keep Arsenal at the top without ever getting near the quality he once brought to the club, just to avoid getting in a bidding war or ever having to admit he was beaten to a player by a bigger club.

It'd be sad if it wasn't quite so funny...
