I like the noises from our boss A. Neil In fact in many ways he has appeal, No shouting off yet about where we´ll end Just looking for areas we can mend, And improve, so that from our decent squad We get consistency at last, thank god I like his thoughts regarding youth as well Sending them out early for a loan spell, Will help them mature and grow up quickly And so be of use to him when needs be, Much better than protecting them too long Then having to sell them for just a song I like the fact that those out in the cold Have been invited back ínto the fold, Bassong particularly had been shunned Even while our defence was being gunned, Our most cultured CB, when he´s awake Don´t throw him in the bin, for goodness sake I like the Neil emphasis on teamwork And not accepting any who would shirk, I think most recently, in that regard We´ve been too sloppy rather than too hard, Having the fear of a boot up the bum Might really help the attitude of some I like what seems his simplified game plan The less confusion then for every man, Football is a simple game after all No need to complicate it with pitfalls, And if he can get that message across Then we might have found ourselves a real boss I like the thought of what this year may bring If Alex N can add that vital sting, Within reach of the top six and top two No-one should discount what we still can do, So let the Alex Neil yellow boat Be launched this Saturday, and stay afloat. I like this man more and more, he is certainly talking a lot of sense, if he can instil that belief and confidence into the team, I think we are in for a memorable journey! OTBC
Good noises so far, and his inputs at Bournemouth are promising, but proven consistency will take more time to establish. We live in hope though.
Speaking of noises, check out Mick McCarthys half time rant and the response from one of his poor defenders to the charge of not kicking it far enough.
Well RBF, perhaps the players should have this article read to them tonight as a 'bedtime story' before every game between now and the end of the season - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...diff_city_on_the_back_foot_1_3918870#cxrecs_s!!!!!! This is and excerpt from it - “Why be scared? That is the bottom line and how I look at it,” he said. “Why try and be defensive and get picked off 1-0 or grind out a dreary 0-0 draw? No way. I’ll go for it. That’s how I look at it and that is how I want my players to play. You have to take the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition but I am a big believer if we know our tasks and it works you don’t need to tinker with it too much. Looking at the squad we have got I would be more inclined to let them worry about us.” Update from another EDP article - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...ding_from_the_front_at_norwich_city_1_3918866 "I’ve told the players what our aims are for the rest of the season and you hope they buy into it. If they don’t there are going to be problems." “I would like to think man-management is one of my strengths,” he says. “The one thing people quickly learn about me is I am completely honest and open with everyone and as a player that is all you want. If somebody tells you exactly where you are and how they see it, then there can be no room for error, no arguments to be had. Could this be another 'rabbit out of the hat' by David McNally - only time will tell???? I'm looking forward to CR being a cauldron of noise for every home game for the rest of the season!!!
I like this bit in particular, "If they don’t there are going to be problems." Reminds me of the old forces saying.... "There's two ways of doing this. My way or the wrong way. You pick." Could almost hear him saying, "Go ahead. Make my day punk."
How refreshing is this. A manager who is going to be in control of the players, not vice versa. Toe the line or you are history. The only thing left to prove to us fans is tactical nous. OTBC.
