Positivity abound and some good old fashioned common sense - (which my Dad always told me wasn't that common). Good interview - and good to read he'll talk to Andy Awford. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32756231
I watched the video, Eastney - what a great down to earth character he is, with a real twinkle in his eye. Looks like he can't wait for the new season to start.
If enthusiasm and drive get promotion you are a shoe-in seeing that interview - my natural temptation is to start a "Pompey Going Down" as a payback but I feel it would be a fools errand.
Indeed Anti - we can't be having that - and yes Woops - down to earth and practical and I think to climb out of L2 we need some of that plus he isn't afraid to set a high bar by the sounds of it. I am a little sad it will probably be without Jed as I believe he would really flourish under Paul Cook (not to say for a moment that he isn't already doing very well) but I can see an offer of bang on 275K coming in very soon - I personally think he's worth a bit more maybe 350K - with a sell on added but I genuinely will wish him nothing but the best. If you look at the likes of Ward & Ritchie our younger players have done well....you could throw in Pack and Cowan-Hall to that too.
8 players released today, Fogden, Butler, Chorley, Shorey, East, Devera, Craddock and Tarbuck. The best bit of news, probably, is that Louis Langdown also departs (strength and conditioning coach) - along with Hardyman, Waddock and Melville. That's a real sweep clean. Needed it as well, we've been on a downward spiral for too long and anyone associated with it needs to leave.
Somewhat surprised to see Ryan Taylor depart. Rumours abound that Millwall have offered him a good contract. Hope Paul Hardyman goes to the academy as a coach, be a bit sad if we lose him completely. Wonder if Chesterfield's goalkeeping coach Eric Nixon will follow Cooky to F.P. ? Scott Bevan's days could be numbered, unless he drops to the academy also.
