Personally I think we're too focused on signing "name" players to fill obvious gaps in the team - it doesn't always work out as we've proved in the recent past. What I'm trying to say is that we (as supporters) need to have some patience if we're going to rebuild in a new image.

Yes, we'll need some experience to replace those like Hoilett that we choose not to retain, and the midfield has needed quality since Camarasa left, but we should take this opportunity to also promote the talent we have coming through and let them have a go even if some initially fall short of the mark - we need to find out.

Difficult to stomach for the many who want it all right now, and I'm as guilty as the next fan, but as a club we need to evolve from the Warnock years. The problem for me is I'm not convinced that Mick for all his praise of the youngsters at the club actually projects that ambition to change and will revert to type for the coming season.

Wonderfully articulated and I could not agree more. The only thing I would say is that Mick's hand maybe somewhat forced by economic concerns.

Clingo - those economic concerns should push the club down the internal development route rather than speculate on new arrivals this season.

Having said that, I've no doubt that apart from the relegee clubs with their 40 mill plus parachute payment this season, the vast majority of Championship clubs will be in the same boat. That could lead to the release of some decent players into the market through necessity.

Maybe a bargain to be had out there but no big spending is likely - just hope we don't go with short term fixes to a long term problem.

Perhaps VT can dig into his deep pockets for the £100m plus lots needed and the Jacks can have weekly bucket collections to cover his wages for us? <whistle>

Would work out okay. He has had plenty of practice playing without midfield support this season. Could even play as a no. 10 supporting Moore.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! for signing James Collins. Every year we have a thread on signing the bloke just cos he's from Cov, and he uses "I want to play for Cov" to boost the fees he gets. The bloke will never play here, as it's not how Robins plays and it stop the idiots on our board in their tracks. Not sure he's the way forward. even for you blokes, too old and not very mobile, a bit like MM???

I don't know if he has signed yet but agree with the comments in your last sentence entirely, Robbie.

If he does sign then it's a strange one as he doesn't fit the profile of what the club appear to want to do.

The only advantages are he's free and cheap. Hopefully we can get a couple of mill for Glatzel and then either Harris or Watters get loaned out for more game time.

Not that we want them but have Cov released players and do they have any rumoured signings?

Hi Andy, we have released a few, most noticeably Max Biamou and Amadu Bakayoko, alomg with several other fringe/u23's. We look to be after a gk, Christian Walton from Brighton, and hopefully get Leo Ostigard and Viktor Gyokeres who we had on loan from them, back on perms as they both look to be nowhere near their first team.
According to all the itk on our board we also should release Shipley, Allen, a German bloke we've never seen Hilsner, and a couple of wingers who've been out most of the season with ACL's.
Looks like it might be a busy summer.
