GH, I think the silverware came into view prematurely- and, equally, you're now dismissing your prospects of glimpsing it again in the foreseeable future far too quickly.

Luke - it can't be both. If we accept your first point about being premature on thinking we have a chance, then surely there are no prospects to dismiss. You keep writing this, but it still doesn't make sense.

I get the impression that Levy thinks we have a chance this year and will therefore loosen the pursestrings in January (striker and CB, please) in order to give us the best possible chance. Usually, at this point in the season, we are so off the pace so as to make breaking into the top 4 as the only realistic target. This year we're potentially only 4 points off the lead with a great squad and a number of players to come back from injury. These players, once fit, will add even greater depth and freshness to our squad. I'm particularly looking forward to Kranjcar coming back (he'll always add to the goal tally) and Sandro getting some more game time (giving Parker a rest every so often). I'm also very buoyed by our 3-5-2 formation and think we should use it more often. Yet again, it will give us the chance to rest players/rotate the squad, which is something I wish Harry would do more often so as to keep our better fringe players happy.
