We're now on more than 2 points a game. Even the most negative and anti-Redknapp moaner must feel we are actually doing rather well. A playoff place at least is virtually certain in January which is more than I could have dreamed of in the Summer. A polite round of applause for this team.
Yep a big well done to the collective. Like him or loathe him, Redknapp is delivering results regardless of style and penache' Id probably be a bit more P'd of if i was paying my money and going to watch some of the stuff being served up, but from where I'm sitting we are on target to meet our goals. now if we could just get that bloody striker in today.........
Before the season started there were mutings we could go the same way as wolves. That has been avoided. Looking at the table last night I would say playoffs are guaranteed pretty much. And I would now go as far to say there are only 3 teams that could catch us. And we are still averaging 2 points per game approaching two thirds of the way thru rhe season ( take a look at how many hull went up with last year). That is a great place to be with 19 games still to go. We are getting to the stage where we will only need to win half the games , a few draws and job done . Time to finish the job.
Although I'm hopeful, even a little confident, at 52 years of age, one thing I've learnt is that nothing is certain and its not over till the fat lady sings. In saying that, I've always been pro Harry, backed our team when times have been a little rough, I do think if anyone can get us up, Harry is the right person with the right type of owner, in Tonz. Together, hopefully they and the players can make it happen. If we can get one or two strikers in before deadline day, this should brighten any dull weather from now till the end of season ........... hopefully, fingers crossed.
I've enjoyed the last three home games. We've won all three and it's been edge of the seat at the end of all of them.
The next three games (Burnley, Derby, Reading) are vital; the teams that can take second place from us, IMO. We need Barton for these three. Three wins would be nice!
i refuse to get excited....as it can always go wrong....but so far so good. I was one of those in fear of doing a Wolves, but no trudging along nicely...... But I think we all feel if we could just play a little better, just have something in reserve....it all feels just a little stretched and always just getting there...but just getting there is so much more than we expected, and so much better than not quite getting there. But as Aussie says it ain't over till the fat lady sings.....and to reiterate....if we could just get another striker...I think we would all feel as though we weren't dependent on just one person, who may or may not have a bad shoulder injury. A striker and defender who can slot right into the team please....and some good injury news on Charlie, Joey, Danny Simpson, Ned, Hoillet (EDIT and forgot YossiB and Jenas who are also out injured and O'Neill) and of course on the longer view on Faulin. (EDIT..that is 8/9 real first team players out, nearly a whole team...that is definitely an injury crisis) enough said,
Great news of course but sorry doesn't feel very QPR to me Team is excellent What Harold does I know not Thank you Kevin Joe Wally and Steve and the team
Lads & Beth, we should be jumping through ´hoops´ at the moment, forgetting the debacle at Everton the team has responded fantastically after a potential downward spiral of two defeats on the trot. We have now won four league games on the spin, that is momentum in anyone´s eyes. Who know´s if the other teams are going to continue to win but what will be interesting is to see how they respond if they lose two on the spin. Well done to everyone at QPR, proud to be an R at the moment.
For me it wasn't the point of this season to get promoted but to sort other issues out in the dressing room. This has mostly been achieved, you only needed to see the reaction from all the players when Henry scored... To be where we are I'm pretty damn amazed, yes it hasn't been pretty and yes there have been some struggles but those things can and will be sorted. A bit of me would like us to stay in the championship for another year, can't stand the thought of a year like the last in PL but I understand the financial needs. So full steam ahead, cart fully in front of the horses, PL here we come, touch wood, cross fingers etc
I fully agree with this. But, if we don't get up this year it may be several more years before we get the opportunity. Even if we go up and straight back down we will have had one year of big Prem money and the parachute payments would start from square one again. (Mind you, my heart probably couldn't take another relegation!)
Two points per game is impressive, without a doubt, but......it seems HR just keeps chucking pieces together to cement promotion, with little to no thought on next season. Players like Henry, Yoshi, Dunne & even Kranjcar (I'm sure you could name more) are surely just stop gaps, but where does that leave you in the summer? Building again. He just seems such a quick fix manager. Qpr needs stability not transition.
My opinion of HR is obviously heading in the opposite direction to many on this thread. Last night I saw yet another timid and uninspiring display against one of the worst oppositions I have seen this season. Individually most of the players looked like they were doing a decent job but collectively it just wasn't happening. Our opener late in the first half was our first shot on target I believe. Yes, we have won four on the spin but we could easily have lost at least three of those games and I think our recent progress has been down to a combination of good fortune and a run of hot form by Charlie Austin rather than Redknapp's game plan.
Yeah thats agreed CCJ. I was think more of some of the earlier performances where we werent playing to well, although winning. Plenty of negative comments re: those. Only problem is with the OP, now we've lost Simpson & poss Charlie for a bit....Seasons going to get tougher...
Yeah give 'Arry some credit. They're posting up pictures of him on the Leicester Board and poking fun at him. Its a disgrace
I am thankful for the results, so well done Harry up to now, it can't be luck all the time. Just wished some of the football wasn't so dire and that we didn't just scrape most games. A 4-0 win with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes would be good for a change against Burnley.
Always been a fan. I don't know any one who has a bad word to say against him (well one guy an Australian gooner. So what would he know) Harry will get us up and he will also set the foundations to keep us up.
