I presume you've all seen us linked with Del Piero and scoffed as much as we all have at the sheer audacity for newspapers to be able to even print such bollocks but if...IF...we somehow pulled off the signing of the century our team would be a joy to behold.

Forget the defence for a minute and just think of our team up the top.

Id guess we'd return to 4-2-3-1 shaping up as such...

    -----------Faurlin-----------Diakite-------------
    -Mackie-----------Del Piero------------Taarabt
    -------------------Cisse----------------------

With Taarabts flair and Mackie's sheer work rate to go along with the class of Del Piero and Cisse's pace WITH Faurlin spraying the ball as well as he does and Diakite charging/gliding past defenders at will we'd have possibly one of the most aesthetically pleasing sides in the division.

We'd have goals from Cisse. A never say die attitude from Mackie. Flair and precision from Del Piero and Taarabt and quality from Diakite and Faurlin.

To quote Alan Partridge "liquid football."

Forgive me for letting this Del Piero rumour even get into my head but a man can dream eh?

Alright then "coup" of the century. To turn your nose up at a world cup winner who just won the Scudetta. He has class that is almost unrivalled at the top of the game and is technically better than every player at the club.

As this season has shown age means nothing. How many times have we shot down Hill or Derry for being too old yet they prove themselves time again. He's 37 (by the way) so if we could get one or two seasons out of him brilliant.

Get in a youngster at the same time. Bleed one through whilst reaping the benefits of a player at the end his career.

Prefer Zidane to Taarabt in this context Scotty - Adel's a bit young!

Why would we want qpr to be the laughing stock of English football again?

It's worth pointing out he only made 4 starts in 38 league matches, 19 times coming on as sub and only scored 3 goals. Why pay silly money for a diminishing talent?...
