I seem to be of the opposite opinion to most on here. In the interests of a balanced forum I'd like to state that I'm disappointed with signing Rose as our 1st choice left back and also disappointed we aren't getting Jenas.

Rose, from what I've seen, is not a strong left back at all and is a pale shadow what of McClean/AJ would give us on the left flank. Before you all say 'AJ plays on the right', I'd rather play Larsson right and AJ left (when McClean is not available). So Rose isn't a good buy, IMO.

Jenas I have always rated, although I am seemingly the only one!

It's a game of opinions, indeed!

it is a game of opinions, but the important thing is that you are free to express your view.

Rose has shown glimmers of brilliance.

Jenas has shown glimmers of being more ****e than I actually thought he was.

    <rofl>

Yes I suspect you are right as being the only one to rate Jenas, but luck is with us we have dodged that bullet

If I agree with Cest I'm usually wrong. <rofl>

The whole site is about opinions, if we all agreed it would be bloody boring.
As long as an opinion doesn't lead to abuse alls fair in love and football.
But piss taking is allowed. <ok>

He hasn't had enough time on the pitch at Spurs in the left back position for me to pass judgement, but from what I have seen of the lad he does look good going forward and will hopefully develop a good understanding with McClean..

That is a scary stat, unfortunately it isn't correct.

He's played 155 games in that time, scoring 21 goals.

To be honest I usually agree with Cest but on this occasion we spectacularly differ! Never mind, variety is the spice of life.

I do think people suggesting a possible Jenas deal 'tainted' our transfer activity seem somewhat spoilt, snobbish and dare I say it, ungrateful.

As for Rose, I hope he does very well for us but I am not full of confidence on that front...

If that was a car we were talking about, then it would be low mileage and in good running order, however as it was previously owned by them up the road the clock will have been re-wound and the full service history will be available in about 6 months once it arrives from the printers, which by the way have a little back street sweat shop ran by a certain Mr Levy. Really glad we're not touching this one.:emoticon-0105-wink:

For what its worth. Rose is a disappointment for me too, as the only left back option brought in and imo, I think this means Colback will be first choice LB for the season, which is absolutely crap imo.

Jenas is simply a pile of ****e.

I can't believe people are saying they're disappointed with Rose before he's even kicked a ball for us !
Our manager has done nothing wrong since he took over and if he's happy to take Danny then that's fine by me.
The other thing is we don't know the full facts. He might have someone lined up who can't come till january and this is a stopgap until he can get who he really wants.

His best position is central midfield and I didn't say if was a bad lb, just a stand in, which I'm tired of seeing.

Rose is a wet nosed kid and I'm not convinced he will cope being first choice lb. Hence, I think Colback will keep the shirt for the foreseeable future, which I think is a mistake.

Cest, we agree after all :)

Rose reminds me of Justin Hoyte I'm afraid. Looked OK in a very good side, no more than OK though (obviously apart from his debut wonder goal!).
