Sir Alex Ferguson says supporters "no longer have patience" with managers and believes Steve Bruce suffered at Sunderland because he was a Geordie.

Bruce was sacked as Sunderland manager on Wednesday and Ferguson believes Alex McLeish, the manager of United's opponents on Saturday Aston Villa, is suffering because he used to manage Villa's rivals Birmingham.

The United manager backs his former captain to bounce back and believes he will be helped in the long run by his experiences at Sunderland.

Nothing to do with results then.

How many home games have Sunderland won in the calendar year? 3? Absolutely inexcusable for a team like Sunderland.

    Mmmm.

I know SAF often tunes into not606 and to my posts in particular to gleam some tips. I'm not saying I have been influential in his success but hey, you all make up your own mind.

As for what he said - pure hoss ****e every word of it.

Its the old boy network at work again. All the players, managers and media darlings that have questioned Bruces sacking, all to a man fail to mention that we have won 3 games at home in 2012 and have a manaegr with a win % of less than 30% in 2.5 years.

If those stats were tagged to SAF, Wenger or ANY other manager in the EPL, they too would be in deep **** with the supporters and their Chairman and owners. How long would ANY manager survive with our results in 2011?

    They wouldnt. Simple as.

Bruce is currently unemployed because he failed as our manager. The fact he is also a b&w suporter is merley a conduit by which I have been able to push home my arguments. If we were top 4 or 5 this season, his b&w credentials would not be a feature but we are in a relegation fight and Bruce has been replaced because of that.

    End of the story.

I'm not one of those who hates SAF, but sometimes he makes statements about others clubs where he has no knowledge at all, as has been said..I couldn't care less where he comes from, Bruce was sacked because he was crap at his job..simple.

Syd, do you really believe SAF would use this opportunity to divert attention from the current problems in his own team?

He is the master of media manipulation.

The majority of journos are terrified of upsetting him because he IS the best in the country at dummy spitting!!!

About time someone else realised everything is Cest's fault.
It was Cest's stupid idea to employ a Geordie manager then when it didn't work out hung him out to dry.
Cest encourages the unwashed to infest our boards with his posts too!
All of his posts are eMailed to all the top managers and any response they make in the media are clearly biased from their reading.

I've heard the latest trouble in Iran, is down to the Iranian footballers reading Cest's posts and spreading discontent amongst the masses.

Personally I find it a bit far fetched that Cest arranged our coalition government!
Even he couldn't be that vindictive!

You'd be surprised at what my influences can actually do but one thing is for certain, if I had any influence over the Govt, this shower of privately educated , privellaged **** stained bell ends wouldnt be anywhere near Westminster.

    Just saying like. Lol

Aren't these comments a sign of why these managers are winners? They want their teams to get 3 points from other teams so their opposition should retain underperforming managers - a cunning lot and SAF tops the lot.

Hey Alex, if you believe in your second-rate mate that much, why don't you name him as your successor? There are an awful lot of people here would like to see Bruce manage Man. U.

    Very, very much.
