What the ****'s the point? It costs an arm and a leg to get in anywhere. Every club/pub is filled to the ceiling with drunk simple minded twats wearing their **** newly bought Christmas clothes. The fake optimism is utterly sickening. It's meant to be "the start of a new beginning", so much so that we'll be going to the same **** job 24 hours after it's all over and paying the same ****ing bills. Strangers that I would normally want to smash in the face feel the need to hug me and kiss me as the clock strikes 12. Here's to a "happy and prosperous" 2013
The OP is a tad depressing but right. A bar I can go to and pay £2 usually will be charging £20 on NYE and drinks will cost more even though it will be pretty much the same. If anyone has to make a new start or change then why wait until the new year.
I like going out on New year's Eve as it's always nice to meet mates you haven't seen in a while but I do really hate the false bon homie of people who wouldn't normally give you the time of day wishing you happy new year. I don't like the forced positivity either but that's most probably because I'm a negative and miserable old bastard.
It is a bit ****. Why celebrate the turn of the year when we don't celebrate the turn of each month, week or day? Plus you've got all the ****ers spouting bollocks such as "new year new year start for me" or "I just know this year's gonna be better than last year"
