http://fourfourtweet.co.uk/the-201415-relegation-battle/? Even though The Tigers finished 4 points and 2 places above the relegation zone last year, they were never in any real danger of being sucked into the battle to avoid the drop. Steve Bruce has built a solid team, with well performing players all over the pitch, including Curtis Davies at the back, Huddlestone and Livermore in the middle, and the finishing prowess of Jelavic and Long up top. This summer the club have strengthened the wings with Snodgrass and youngster Tom Ince linking up with the team. Hull have the potential in their team to finish mid table and even in the top half if they perform consistently well, although theyâll also need to juggle European commitments this season as well. I donât envision that Bruceâs men will be involved in the relegation fight.
I am feeling pretty confident this year. It's steady progress and there will definitely be 3 worse teams.
That was written before we sold Long and before Pulis departed Palace. He's right though, I don't forsee us struggling this season.
Remember at the start of last season no one really thought Fulham and Norwich would struggle and look how that turned out. On paper we have a team that can stay up and we have a manager capable of keeping us up, however its going to be so close in the bottom half of the table this year that anything could happen.
