But at the moment - It appears we may have another Bendtner! ____ Joking aside, the French League is AWFUL and SLOW so hopefully he'll adjust in time and get fitter and faster reactions. PLUS every cross we sent in his direction went about 10 miles over his head! Will he come good?
3 games... give him a chance. He is not the kind of player who instantly adapt, he is a slow burner. Once he starts scoring though, he will be consistent at it.
it took henry 8 games, bergkamp 5 games and RVP 7 years to find form. give him time. also, Wright, Henry, Bergkamp and RVP all got their debut goal v Southampton. Omen?
^^ Well said... and he has much better movement and awareness than Bendtner... he was a major reason why we scored our first goal against Liverpool. It is frustrating he hasn't scored yet but I'm sure he'll come good.
Very true, but i was just pointing out why the poor guy probably hasnt scored! ha our crossing to him against liverpool was woeful
I hate threads like this, give the guy a chance he has only just started. If you had paid attention you would have seen that his movement was very good, and he consistently won anything in the air. When he finds his scoring touch and gets a bit of confidence in front of goal I think we will have a really good player.
You obviously missed the "joking aside" part of it. The OP was indicating that he will come good. But, I agree with what you say about his movement, it was superb. I know he missed a good chance and another one in the last game, but the only reason he got those chances was his movement and understanding with Carzorla.

No one seems to have mentioned that against Stoke had he connected with the attempted bicycle kick and had the long range effort dipped under the bar, he may well have scored two contenders for goal of the season in one game! Fine lines
I apologize, I didn't read your whole post properly, I was in a rush. We definitely need to work on our crossing. We've seen Walcott dribble to the other end of the pitch plenty of times to simply not have an end product. With Giroud now our target man it's imperative that we work on this. I remember hearing Athletic Bibao practiced making over 100 consecutives crosses before their Europa league final last season. As we know, that didn't help them in the end but I do wonder what kind of training tactics are employed at Arsenal as our standard of crossing tends to be poor.
Slightly related, but it is obvious that at least in seems that we have worked on our corners this year. Steve Bould's influence with the near post flick-ons. Also as a defensive unit, we seem to have spent a lot of time training. Hopefully this will then lead to improvements in crossing next.
I really dont understand threads like this. It's like all the crazy opinions people get about players based on few games in a World Cup. in 2008 - I remember on the old 606. Arsenal were linked to signing Mario Gomez but most Arsenal fans on there claimed he was a donkey (purely based on his Euros performance for Germany) not worth buying etc.. since then he has had four Seasons where he has scored over 30 goals. Give Giroud some time. Henry,Pires, Berkamp all needed time to adjust to the EPL. If the fans get on his back already its only going to make things harder for him. Soo far I think he's looked good.
Bear - I really don't think you understood the post properly. I don't think anyone here disagrees with you so far.
Fair play, did'nt read all the text. ____ ^^ made me think it was just his signature^^ Still, I am awaiting that kind of reaction from some fans.
Giroud has done everything right other than score a goal, but that will come. His first touch is really good, he does a lot of work off the ball pulling defenders out of position and he holds up play really well to bring others into play. Once he's bagged a goal, I think they'll start flowing for him.
