I know there are fans still being optimistic purely on the basis that we're in the Premiership but, as opposed to every other season where I too carry those same hopes, I just have a sense of pending doom. The best analogy I can find is waiting 15 years to run the half marathon and then getting to the starting line with a broken ankle. Irrespective of what's happening off the field, it's how we do on it that counts and we're not giving ourselves the chance to do ourselves justice. Even Blackpool did this with a small budget and tight wage structure. My only consolation is that Warnock will have us battling and give us a bit of pride (while he's there and with numerous what ifs). There. I said it. Hopefully tempting fate in our favour....
