first off, i dont agree that he should be getting death threats, but when talking about the protestors he said "I think these people grew up without ever hearing their parents ever tell them 'No'."

thats just absolutely ridiculous. not everyone grows up with the money that he had due to his father, so they may not have the same chances open to them in life. so for him to comment about the situation like this is disgraceful because he does not know what some of these students have to go through. some of these students may have to give up on an education if the tuition fees rise, their lives will be based on the descision about tuision fees so i think that they have the right to protest about it.

I think he grew up mostly without his father but I agree, it's something in life he knows nothing about so he should keep his mouth shut. But, to the best of my knowledge, he has never kept his mouth shut.

He is indeed. But when people mouth off in public about things they don't understand, they make themselves look like arrogant idiots. That's why he should have kept it shut.

I agree on the "no one should receive death threats" front, but the sad reality there is that it often takes that sort of thing for the media to take any notice these days, as they are only interested in the sensational, and protesters know this so have to take a calculated risk that the "stunt" they pull will get them attention and maybe allow their point to get across too.

The thing is, with people like Villeneuve, they get asked questions, so they give an answer. He has every right to an opinion on every subject matter that you can think of too, just like you and I do. Whether that opinion is all that valuable is another matter entirely, but he was the one who got dragged into it. I doubt that when he woke up all he wanted to do was comment on protesting students.
