Food yes exercise less so. I use Garmin connect (although you need a garmin watch to use it) Strava is a good app. Good for measuring workouts etc.
Food wise , I wouldn’t say it was totally accurate - doubt any of these apps can be - you can get different numbers for calories , protein etc depending on which entry you select - so he consistent in choosing same ones each time , or research the food and create your own entry . Having said that it’s a great tool to focus your eating efforts and helps you keep to your protein , carb , fat percentages and fibre intake
Granted food calories may not be accurate, but I suppose the behaviour modification of actually writing intake down may result in less intake.
Eat less move more mate. Won't sell any books or videos that , but that's whats it comes down to for us all in the end.
I've had fit bits in the past but you become dependent on them. I'm 6'3 ,and at my heaviest I was pushing 22 stone, I'm broad so looked like I could "carry it off". What I found was, have a little bit of what you like, and eat in moderation, but never underestimate the power and effects of walking. If you feel "peckish", drink a pint of water, it can help rid the craving for a bag of crisps, you feel fullish and it gives you time to think " did I really want the crisps". I'm down to 17 stone and comfortable. Good luck mate.
Yep...totally agree, I reckon diets don't work. Its reduce calories in and increase calories used. However I am not so mobile as I used to be, ie 10k runs a thing of the past. Plus bad plantar fasciitis just starting to improve. So I want to eat less and whilst it is not a diet as such, if you keep a food diary you are likely to eat less. My PF is slightly better and I am starting to be able to walk around the golf course. I have said to myself no alcohol until I lose a stone. Another problem is chocolate and hobnobs
Good luck with it all mate. Slowly does it. Don't put too much on mesell, which is just as well as running up and down hills is in the past for me too.
Only ever really put weight on in one period in my life, when I was at college, and I used to drink Never really liked alcohol so stopped soon after college, never put weight on since
I'm going on holiday with wor lasses family and ours, any tips on how to get ripped, my favourite exercises are watching football, scratching my bollocks and picking my nose, and once a fortnight I walk from the metro station car park to the SOL and back
Me too. Got weighed at a hospital appointment on Monday and couldn’t believe how much weight I have put on in such a short time.
I’ve really struggled with my weight all my life I was ok when I played football untill 40 Then it become more difficult I have had good times keeping my weight ok and eat and drunk sensible However I drank and ate more because of all my holidays in 2018 I was at an all time high for me 19st plus I then cut back again on food and drink and started walking 4-5 miles a day most days a week I am still fighting my weight and got down to 16st 8lb my real problem is my life style apart from the occasional walk now maybe just a few times a month I’ve gained 10lb and struggling to move the weight I still suffer with my back problems and not as fit as I’ve been Nevertheless 70 years old now and will be going for a 4-5 mile walk in 10 minuets time I will just have to try my best
I tracked my food intake with my fitness pal but didn't use it to log exercise. Dropped a canny amount of weight. It's a good guide but, as mentioned above, not gospel. Good luck with the fitness journey mate
Thats a great point to remember mate. it's YOUR best, no one elses' - you are not in competition with anyone. If you want competition, then just try to better the you of yesterday. And even a small slow walk around the block is doing more than the person sat on the couch stuffing themselves with junk food.
Yeah mate we managed 3.1 miles today lite lunch and football now for the rest of the day Ohhh we gave the car a good wash a little more excersise We try
