... if they can get another 4 points on the board by the end of the season I will drive down to Bristol and stand them drinks all night in their local.

Not just to congratulate them but also to thank them on behalf of all Saints fans.

It will be worth every penny.

Looking at Bristol's fixtures I think they might be very lucky to get another point.

Pompey certainly have the "easier" games.

True on paper Godders but I think the skates cup final was against us and as last night showed, they won't perform like that again this season.

Where have you been Godders? I was looking forward to your take on the big match, but you were sadly, not forthcoming.

I concede that we've had it now, so they might as well go hell for leather.

    Boost for Pompey!

There is a bit of a flaw in your thinking here, unless your mates happen to in City's first team! Your mates cannot influence the outcome of the games and so far from being worth every penny, it would be a waste of resources- however pleasurable! As someone who professes to be careful with the little money which the chancellor leaves you, I am surprised at your profligacy! I would thought that you would have organised a night out along the lines of, "if Bristling City survive then you guys can all buy
me a drink to celebrate Saints being promoted. Missed a trick there, I fear.<laugh>

I'm assuming it's about 80p for a litre of cider in Bristol? And by local, you mean local park?

The very lovely Mrs Godders had to go away over the Easter holiday so I stayed at home until after the match and then rushed off to join her. So for four days I have been away from civilisation.

I enjoyed the game very much and have to say your two guys scored a couple of great goals and your keeper had a brilliant game.

I was very worried that your very physical style was going to cost us heavily in terms of injured players for the run in and that proved correct as I will be surprised if we see Morgan Schneiderlin again this season. Poor old Guly who is used to the silky skills of Brazilian football and the tactics of the Italian league was once more baffled by the blood and guts of a local derby.

I came away from the game feeling that the result was fair and that honours were even in the two derby clashes. Although my mate from Bristol who took the very lovely's seat was more disappointed than me at the result but then it was going to have a greater bearing on his team's season.

This morning I plucked up enough courage to go and read the News and found a quite distasteful piece written about the Pompey fans' journey back through Southampton. The hack has said some most unkind things about ordinary people and his piece was a very poor and most base piece of reporting. Clearly he had been upset. Had the very lovely gone to the game and he had caught a glimpse of her then he would have been in a love sick mood all the way home and would no doubt have written a jolly nice piece about the very lovely ladies of our fair city.
