That nice Mr Brent sent me one in the post today. It says I'm a "Plymouth Argyle 125 Founder Member" and he even signed it. Now if I was 12 and still believed in Santa then I would have been royally chuffed as a badger doing the proverbial. As it is I'm 63 and not easily impressed. Slight confusion with the guff that came with it though. On an amendment sheet it said that Foundation members would be able to get a 5% rebate on membership for this season. All you have to do is tell the Box Office staff when you get your ticket. Well most tickets that are going to be sold have been sold by now so a bit late with the info for a start. But, notice the similarity in wording here. My opening line says "founder member". The 5% rebate is for "foundation members". Are they the same thing???? Christ knows but I'll bet I don't get 5% back.
Sensible you probably won’t get your 5% back, but you should be able to rest easy knowing that Mr Brent and family will be still able to live in the luxury they have grown accustomed too, thanks to you and many others!
Inflation is rife in this world AWAYINBC. £17 which is the equivalent of 10 bob in old money now. Of course I'm so pleased with my certificate that a rebate is far from important or on my mind.
I'm very pleased to do my bit for that nice Mr Brent mouldy. If he couldn't afford to run his Roller then I would be gutted. I nearly framed it in the bin plym but my Mrs said that would have been a bit childish. I pulled it's legs off instead........... I was reading a thread on PASOTI last night which my son started in his own sarcastic fashion saying how proud he was to receive his bit of paper. Some or rather most of the responses were saying what a lovely gesture it was by Mr Brent and one even said it was special because he had signed it personally. My son pointed out that it was a reproduction certificate and why (he works in printing) but not to be detered they still thought it was lovely. How easily pleased some are.
I had a certificate once..just can't remember what it was for.. Do you have memory problems Mr. S ?..
Can't remember AWAYINBC I might have. I got a certificate once before which I forgot about until I was sorting through my late mum's stuff. Found my 25 yard swimming certificate which I got when I was 42. (Not really). Surprising what parents keep isn't it.
We'll call it Sensibedo 25. Sounds like a plan. I had a 12 yard one somewhere but that one seems to be missing. Still, 25 sounds much better.
