I felt like a murderer, reveals Faurlin after contentious move By SAMI MOKBEL Last updated at 11:16 PM on 29th July 2011 Comments (0) Add to My Stories Share Alejandro Faurlin says he felt as if he had âmurderedâ someone during the FA probe which threatened Queens Park Rangers top-flight promotion last season. In March, QPR were charged with seven breaches of third-party ownership and agents laws in relation to Faurlinâs £3.5million move from Instituto de Cordoba in 2009. Wrong move! Faurlin's move to QPR breached seven FA regulations Speculation was rife that the charges would lead to a hefty points penalty â one large enough to strip the runaway Championship leaders of promotion. An independent FA tribunal found QPR guilty on two of of the seven counts â but the club escaped with a £875,000 fine. I knew it wasnât my fault â but I still saw my name everywhere. In the newspaper, the television and you start to feel like you did something wrong. It makes you feel like youâve murdered someone. The possibility of losing what we fought all season because of my transfer just made me feel sick.â Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...n-contentious-Rangers-move.html#ixzz1TZHJ90dI
FAURLIN: 'BELIEF IS THE KEY' Posted on: Fri 29 Jul 2011 Alejandro Faurlin is relishing making his Barclays Premier League bow against Bolton Wanderers in 15 days' time. Faurlin - one of the undoubted stars of the show as the R's romped to the title last season - believes the time has come for him and his team-mates to shine at the top table of English football. "We worked really hard for this - to be almost at the start of the season feels fantastic," he told www.qpr.co.uk. "We are very happy as a squad and we're enjoying every second of the countdown to the season." Faurlin added: "There's going to definitely be a lot more quality in the Premier League. "Yes, we may get more space and time on the ball at times, but the quality will be higher." The Argentinean ace believes belief will be key over the coming weeks and months, commenting: "We have to believe in ourselves. "I believe in myself and I know my team-mates believe in themselves. "I've never played at this level, but I want it badly and I will do everything for Neil Warnock, my team-mates, the supporters and the Club."
I was watching Faurlin sign autographs outside LR before the last game of the season against Leeds, about 15 minutes before the news came through that they'd be no points deduction. The fans were all supportive but the poor guy look really sick with worry, he barely smiled, his eyes darted nervously, and it was then that the effect on him personally really hit me. Of course, by the time he got on the pitch, he looked like a kid going on his first holiday!
Great player, glad Nelly sees the value in the boy stating he will be one of the best midfielders in the Prem this season. .......Was that interview in English then?? I'm very impressed
Faurlin is almost too good to be true. A young quality player in a key role who seems totally happy to honour his contract and develop as a player along with the club itself. Total opposite of AT of course. It does make you wonder what he feels about the backroom situation and the very limited investment we have seen. There must be a temptation to look at more ambitious clubs in his situation.
